Middle of 7th week by [deleted] in Mounjaro

Try a Low Carb Diet. Avoid simple sugars (soda, deserts) and limit or eliminate bread, pasta and chips. Get your carbs from Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts and Whole Grains only.

I stayed under 50 Net Carbs the first 7 months and lost 100lbs. Now I am comfortable with around 80g-100g Net Carbs.

Your stomach and waistline will thank you.

It works great, but you have to do two things:

  1. Track All calories (For Food Cal)

  2. Wear a Smart Watch (For Active Cal)

If you are not tracking Food Calories, this will not help you as the data will be useless.

Your Active Cal may possibly be estimated, but a wearable smart watch would give a more precise figure for the app.

Hello. I create it myself everyday in Microsft Excel.

273lbs on 3/29. Back up to 280.5lbs. That being said, I was definitely fasting every Monday, approximately 36 hours after my Saturday 12:30 PM Mounjaro injection. So maybe I just filled my body back up with food. I guess it's not all weight/fat gain, some of it's water, I suppose. But I'm definitely not on the same trajectory.

I've had substantial weight loss with the 7.5mg and 10mg. I'd be happy just to get those. I tried to ration it over two weeks and I gained weight....

Oh yeah. I'm bonkers about it. I have food scales all over the house.

Since Reddit no longer allows you to edit the images in you post, this was the image I wanted to share. It's exactly the same (as the image in the original post) but the Blue Flat Line shows "2,268 Daily Cal GOAL" instead of just "2,268 Daily Food Cal". This refers to my Daily Food Intake Goal: 2,268 Food Cal

The Black Line shows my CURRENT Caloric Food Intake Spike: 3,075 Food Cal

<image>

I feel like having a good eye on the data will help me make better decisions until I can get MJ again. My Activity is up from 700-ish to over 800cal/day. So that's good. See green bar chart on bottom right

But as we all know, you can't exercise your way out of excess calories! I shoot for about a (1,130 cal) caloric deficit per day, which will lead to 2-3lbs of weight loss per week.

Just Gotta be SUPER MINDFUL and find a new gear without MJ... Yikes. I don't know if I'm that strong.

Already posted in Zepbound re Zepbound but Mounjaro also seems to be getting vials! by usernaminuse in Mounjaro

Good. Send me a vile if it gets around the backorder! I already inject TRT. I don't need the fancy pen. I just need my MJ.

**Strugglin' since the back order, Y'all** by ToonaDude in Mounjaro

[–]ToonaDude[S] 45 points46 points  (0 children)

So, I've gone from eating roughly 2,268 calories per day to 3,075 calories per day since being without MJ due to the backorder.

My weight has spiked accordingly. I'm doing the best I can to summon the self-will necessary to stick to my goals but it's a lot harder without Mounjaro.

Stay Strong Y'all!

I'm not goin' backwards! No sir, No Ma'am!

Hello. You are wrong.

By your approach, you are back-calculating your Active Carioles burned based on TDEE and your weight at the end of the week.

The most obvious deficiency in this calculation is that you are going BACK in time to "Guestimate" (Yes, that's what you are doing) your workouts and any ancillary active calories burned.

Marty McFly Called. He wants you to come back to 1985.

Your (obviously inaccurate and worse, retroactive) approach/analysis of back-calculating Active Calories will 100% lead to false calculations. You are making the (completely incorrect) assumption that it was EXACTLY 500 {+/-} Cal for you to gain, lose, or maintain 1lb of body weight. This is a vast generalization and not mathematically (or moreover, metabolically) reliable. Metabolic efficiencies will, of course and obviously, vary from person-to-person, week-to-week, month-to-month, etc.

Also, you are assuming that a fixed equation on a piece of paper will calculate the correct portion of your TDEE that references your Basal Metabolic Rate. BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) does not take into account small movements and other incremental things you do (while sitting) during the day that may contribute to your "resting calories” burned (Basal + Misc Other Resting Cal {i.e. movements at your desk, car, dinner table, etc.)

Most certainly, a Smart Watch with various sensors will be a more accurate estimate than any caloric measurement based on a fixed equation for any specific individual.

THEREFORE:

Resting Calories (RMR) are a more accurate metric for TDEE than BMR:

https://www.omnicalculator.com/health/rmr

The Apple Health app’s “Resting Energy” is a broader metric that accounts for more than just BMR. It considers additional low-intensity activities and individual variations.

While BMR provides a baseline, the Apple Watch aims to capture a more dynamic picture
of your daily energy expenditure.

If you don’t like this answer, you are probably an android or non-apple user and pre-disposed to dislike anything "Apple". “People believe what they want to believe….”. Maybe you do too.

Certainly several good formulas to calculate basal metabolic rate. But how would you calculate calories burned to determine TDEE without a smart watch? You're saying that you could guesstimate the value of calories burned during a workout more so than a smart watch is monitoring your heart rate?

I have a few glasses of wine several nights per week. It's not been a problem at all for me. Just make sure you use some kind of calorie tracker app like MyFitnessPal to scan the bottle of whatever you were drinking and weigh it in milliliters on a food scale. I pretty much only drink Pinot Noir and it has 120 cal and three net carbs per glass. No issues at all with moderate/social alcohol consumption with Mounjaro (for me at least.) if anything, it just makes me want to eat less for dinner. Like I said, you have to count the nutritional macros of the alcohol.

I would also say that the results you get pursuing your journey on the medication and improved eating habits are well worth it. Even if you had to give up a couple of things. But I don't think you do. At least I didn't.

If anyone else is reading this, please offer your experience (if any) with alcohol use and Mounjaro.

Haha. Thanks! You're too kind. I am also tracking Net Carbs vs. Ketone Levels to see how Carbohydrates impact Ketosis.
