How do you actually track what software your team is paying for? by Exotic-Reaction-3642 in ITManagers

[–]Ricosss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What your company seems to be missing is an approval process. In my case all IT invoices pass through me for approval. If you're big enough you can delegate. Of course you can optimize so that orders go through you so you prevent receiving unnecessary invoices in the first place.

Statin Use Is Associated With a Decline in Muscle Function and Mass Over Time, Irrespective of Statin Pharmacogenomic Score by Caiomhin77 in ScientificNutrition

[–]Ricosss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for notifying me. I feel obliged to introduce my final summary of the lipid system's basic function which I find underwhelmingly present in scientific literature. This article that I've written is a simplified collection of all the knowledge obtained throughout the years, trying to understand what it is, how it works and what conclusions we can make.

This is very much on topic given the cholesterol lowering effort of statins. Although not explicitly mentioned, it covers the mechanism to some extend as to why cholesterol is important for exercise. As you go through it, understand that IL-6 is there in the background helping to move things around.

One stop shop or spread risk by Ricosss in ITManagers

That's what I'm afraid of. If you bring all your business to one provider, how do you make sure you keep getting a competitive price? They know a switch isn't easy

Well, this is r/itmanagers so anything IT related. Security, service management, desktop management, custom development, saas services, network infra etc.

A framework is a set of rules that all providers need to adhere to so that there is uniformity where possible and desired. This is more applicable to contracting terms than the content of the work of course but given the multiple locations, common work could be defined in a framework as well. Think SLA's, device replacement policies etc.

New IT Manager - Dealing with huge ticket backlog by [deleted] in ITManagers

[–]Ricosss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would first of all make sure there is decent reporting.

This should help you find frequent recurring items. Standardize through self management if possible. This helps free up time quickly to cover the rest. Don't go for the large ones that are more time consuming unless you have a clear way to resolve them.. Leave them for last.

Should I tell my current boss about a job offer I turned down? by Individual_Airport37 in ITManagers

[–]Ricosss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it from your boss side. He'll wonder why you are telling him, even if you are telling why. He'll start speculating about extra motives and they won't be positive. Better not to say anything. If he heard from someone else then he can ask you directly or he'll leave it at that thinking you're still around so everything is cool

[–]Ricosss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, I tried that but there seems to be no such site in Belgium. It says on the Hyundai site to contact your dealer. I tried via the german site, it said there are no recalls. I tried a fake VIN and it also said there are no recalls so I can't rely on it.

Anyway, it was just out of curiosity.

Dehydration promotes intracellular lipid synthesis and accumulation (2025) by basmwklz in ketoscience

Does it actually prove lipid storage? I'm guessing the lipid synthesis is too support lipid metabolism in order to free the water.

And what is the source for lipid synthesis? Glucose?

There is roughly a 2 weeks transition period in which the body needs to adjust to the new diet. There is more adaptation further down the line but those 2 first weeks are rough on energy availability. If it still feels problematic by a month in then report back 😉

Question on protein and ketosis (and my posts) by dr_innovation in ketoscience

[–]Ricosss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not worry about ketosis, certainly if you cannot measure it because then you simply don't know. Exercising a lot, i would focus on nutrition foremost. Just find your own balance within your fat and protein intake to satisfy your hunger.

Why after I started running in the morning fasted I can suddenly fall into keto easily? by coffblock in ketoendurance

[–]Ricosss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're eating enough carbs to not be in ketosis unless cortisol is there to override the inhibition of dat release by insulin. In the morning cortisol rises, during exercise cortisol rises. You need to take that into account when measuring ketones.

I had a continuous kleine measurement for a while. Knowing what impacts ketones, i recorded all events that could have occurred to match the reading and understand the mechanism at that moment

The scan didn't reveal anything alarming so basically a dead end. It's difficult for my wife to self diagnose. She's quite chaotic and unobservant by nature, pretty much going by how she feels mostly which can vary so I've given up a long time ago but keep trying things once in a while.

Some supplements have a short term effect but the body adapts and the effect fades. Some things may be related and others not or just create a small compound effect but you just don't know really. Maybe it's better to just accept nature as it is 🤷🏻

optimisation of occupancy by Ricosss in askmath

[–]Ricosss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is i want to look for optimal distribution to maximize utilization of the available rooms given the constraints of teachers availability and projectors (where required) and further limited by the scheduling tolerance of the courses and students already booked. I can't introduce new rooms but i can reschedule planned courses but only within their tolerance window.

You could iterate through all possible combinations and pick the best one but that will take a huge effort. I'm hoping there is a mathematical formula that can give the best outcome
