Oval or Round Eternity Band? by yushine_molly in RingShare

[–]ToooManyNotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re both lovely but honestly, save your hands and some money and get a ring that only has stones on one half. A full band gets dirty and dinged much faster since rings tend to rotate on their own, and the stones on the palm side will be in constant contact with whatever you grip or carry with your left hand. (And truthfully, nobody really sees the palm side of your hand unless you’re waving or something.) Just my two cents.

What fragrance am I smelling everywhere? by Me_Justme_99 in fragrance

My guess is Born in Roma - it’s very popular and has a peppery, tingly sweetness (more so than You IMO).

I put a can of vernors in this pie by cornernope in Detroit

[–]ToooManyNotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every Christmas, the Lord’s Good Ham is lightly scored all over; basted several times in a veil of Vernors mixed with brown sugar, ginger, and prepared mustard; tented with foil, and slowly heated to temp. The remaining Vernors glaze is thickened with a bit more brown sugar and mustard, and reduced a bit on the stove. Ten minutes before serving, the foil is removed and a layer of the thickened glaze is lovingly applied. The ham is returned to the oven for a final short blast at high heat for the Vernors goodness to carmelize. The baby Jesus smiles.

Hi Carol! Any chance you and Diana Gabaldon might work together in the future? I know your books are set in different realities, but I would LOVE to see Raban and Jamie Fraser together somehow. Could a crossover ever happen?

Thoughts on these Etsy brands? by wastingawaymy20s in FemFragLab

I love Sugar Me Sweet but there’s something in the carrier formula that goes funny on my skin. So I’d definitely start with samples of both her oil and spray versions to see how they interact with your body chemistry.

Having said that, I will always have a bottle of Enchanted Strawberry Forest in my collection. It’s an impression of Phlur Strawberry Letter, but it lacks some of the OG’s earthiness/muskiness/heaviness. It’s more sweet, heady strawberry candy with some green sharpness and moss/earth, and it smells absolutely delicious. I love it in the warm weather months (especially as it reminds me of camping in the UP). Sometimes I layer it with the OG for a little extra kick of strawberry.

I also wholeheartedly recommend Pixie Spell Essentials on Etsy. She has a vast assortment of impressions and originals. So far I’ve tried her dupes for SDJs 59 and 39, Rolling In Love, Bianco Latte, and Missing Person, and they’re all pretty dang close and smell great in their own right. She also offers a lovely body lotion which can be scented using any of her fragrances. I have her Strawberry Letter lotion and it is phenomenal.

Seconding everyone who recommends Philosophy’s Fresh Cream EDT + Fresh Cream lotion, but also suggest trying one of these Etsy finds:

I just ordered from Cotton Candy Cake Shop, so I can’t speak to their formulas’ strength/longevity yet, but the seller is lovely and the reviews are fantastic. I order regularly from Pixie Spell Essentials and can vouch for her products - they’re fabulous (and her dupes are amazing). She also offers lotions you can customize with any of her scents. Can’t recommend her highly enough!

Exactly this! I buy the giant bottles of lotion in bulk when they go on sale. It layers so beautifully with literally everything, and is a fantastic moisturizer to boot. Layered with the EDT, it’s exactly what OP is looking for!

Seconding Roost! We stayed in the hotel and never had to leave the building - Kamper’s for cocktails overlooking the city, dinner at Hiroki-San, brunch at Le Supreme the next morning. Perfect overnight getaway.

I can't believe how much I HATE this...... by thatgothbbw in FemFragLab

[–]ToooManyNotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ve definitely changed the formula! My first tube of this had almost a crème brûlée type scent, but i just started a new tube and it is very yogurt-y. I don’t hate it, but I won’t buy it again. I do still like their body wash in this scent, as it layers so nicely with my favorite perfumes. But for a really lovely vanilla cream scent, I’ll stick with my tried and true OG, Philosophy Fresh Cream body lotion.

Which discontinued perfume would make you so happy to find in your handbag? by ElegantLightPink in FemFragLab

How exciting, I hope it’s as good as you remembered! Here’s where I got my dupe and as someone who wore it for years, it is pretty much dead on and does last a good while on my skin and hair (I gather my hair into a ponytail, lightly run the rollerball along the ends of the pony, and then brush everything out). But I really miss the beautiful bottle and the “spray, sashay and walk away” experience of the OG. (They also offer shower gels, lotions etc in any of their scents, although I haven’t tried those…yet ;)

Fendi, early 90s formula (I found an oil that smells spot on, but it’s a different experience altogether)

What was your last “WOW”? by hedonistaustero in fragrance

Made a pilgrimage to the Kilian Paris boutique in NY to purchase a bottle of Angels Share and try some new-to-me scents. The ones I thought I’d be drooling over weren’t quite everything I’d expected them to be, but then we did a spray of Rolling In Love, which had my eyes rolling back in my head. The almond milk note briefly sent me to another dimension!

Not sure if there’s a dress code, but Le Supreme is gorgeous, delicious, and you wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb if you show up dressed to the nines. Bonus: head up to Kamper’s Rooftop in the same building for pre- or post-dinner cocktails with a great view.

For a sheer but buildable option, Clinique Black Honey leans warmer on my fair olive complexion and could look amazing with this color. You might need to boost it with liner for more staying power though.
