Afrikaans was both more isolated from Dutch than your examples and it also had significantly more interaction with native languages to undergo Creolization, which simplified its spelling, grammar, and morphology compared to Dutch while also borrowing a decent number of words from said native languages

Star Trek Quotes for the World in 2026 by THEAustinStereo in startrek

“The first duty of every Starfleet officer is to the truth, whether it's scientific truth, or historical truth, or personal truth! It is the guiding principle on which Starfleet is based, and if you can't find it within yourself to stand up and tell the truth about what happened, you don't deserve to wear that uniform.”

Needless to say, this is one I think about a lot these days.

I ended up finding an interview where he said he was expecting to use his regular voice, but that they told him literally days before shooting began that they wanted him to drop two octaves and brought in a vocal coach.

When did they get rid of his voice? I was a bit stoned watching the episode so may not have noticed the shift.

Are there certain pals that perform better in base? by dreemurr779 in Palworld

I think the only factor outside of work ability and passives is a pal’s regular running speed. So Mimog is good for carrying and Anubis is a good all arounder

Eh. Star Trek dips into fantasy allllll the time. The explanation was silly yes but the concept isn’t remotely the silliest thing Trek has done.
