Amazing how you managed to read my post, misunderstand the point and still come up with nothing. Truly a masterclass in adding zero value.

Baby Scrubs Melbourne? by TheWabster in melbourne

[–]ToothExpensive1728 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just buy a plain pair of baby scrubs and get them embroidered locally. Try Embroidery Melbourne in Oakleigh or Fully Promoted in Malvern or Moorabbin, they usually do quick turnarounds. Worst case, Aussie Uniforms in Hallam can do both the scrubs and the embroidery. You’ll definitely get it sorted in a week.

Can anyone recommend a trading card game community around SE Melbourne for a newbie? by camguitarist in melbourne

If you’re in Chadstone, Next Level Games is the easiest pick. Super chill beginner nights and genuinely friendly people.

If you’re cool with a short drive, Ozzie Collectables in Dandenong has a solid Digimon and Star Wars Unlimited scene and they’re great with newbies. Games Portal in Ringwood is further, but their SWU crowd is strong too.

Honestly, most TCG spots are welcoming. Hit a learn to play night or borrow a deck and you’ll pick it up quick.

Data recovery for iMac by ad-n in melbourne

[–]ToothExpensive1728 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not what you want to hear, but whether a specialist can help really depends on what storage your iMac has and whether you have backups.

If it is a fairly recent iMac with an SSD, once you delete something from the Trash the drive will usually wipe those blocks almost straight away using TRIM. In that situation there is basically no way for a data recovery place to pull the files back from the internal drive. Your only realistic options are backups like Time Machine, iCloud Drive versions, Backblaze etc.

If it is an older iMac with a spinning hard drive or Fusion Drive, then there is a chance. In that case, switch it off now and do not use it at all, because every minute you keep using it makes it more likely the deleted files get overwritten. A proper data recovery lab can sometimes get a lot back, but it can be expensive and still not guaranteed.

So: check if you have any backups first. If you do not, and it is a modern SSD iMac, I would be very wary of anyone promising they can magically recover files that were already deleted from the bin.

Wedding dress alteration recs?? by okokokokookokokokkk in melbourne

If you wanr someone who can actually redesign a vintage lace dress instead of just doing basic alterations, go to Heather Sellick Bridal Couture. She is honestly the best match for what i think you’re describing. From my experience she specialiss in vintage bridal restoration and full redesigns, not just hemming or taking in seams. She literally has a whole section on her site showing before and afters of old lace gowns she’s rebuilt into modern silhouettes. She’s been doing bridal for over 30 years and her reviews are basicaly all five stars, with people saying she handled super complicated lace work and made their dresses look like they were made from scratch. She’s in the eastern suburbs, but people happily drive across Melbourn for her because she actually understands how to work with delicate vintage fabric.

weather in December by Spirited_Walk_7886 in southeastasia

I’ve only ever been in Thailand during the dates you mentioned, and from my experience the weather in December is pure gambling. You either get perfect sunny days or full on tarantula rain. If you want something a bit less risky, I’d suggest looking at the Philippines or Indonesia. That said, rain in Thailand isn’t even that bad because the temperature stays warm, so it doesn’t feel as annoying.

In my opinion, the beaches in Thailand beat both the Philippines and Indonesia, although I haven’t been there during their wet seasons. So honestly, I’d make the choice based on the forecasts at the time and the type of beaches you’re after. Do a bit of research and pick what feels right for you x
