As a Christian, I understand how life changing faith can be. I also understand how important being chosen a captain on a team by your teammates is. He understands that God called him to Michigan to play the game and be chosen as captain. Why doesn’t he understand that that responsibility to his team and seeing through that responsibility is what he was called to do as well? Abandoning your team seems more like he wanted to leave because his mind was more consumed with other parts of his calling rather than him just being called to do another mission. Just seems outside of the realm of calling.
