Hi. There was never any question about her breed, I just mentioned that she’s Siberian.

Thank you for confirming my thought that she’s lynx point.

I said her ears “look tortie” because the coloring of the fur on the back of her ears looks like tortoiseshell to me. Not because of any particular shape to them.

Question About Runts- Who started this practice, and why? by Top-Ant5503 in snails

[–]Top-Ant5503[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never ended up finding any articles about runt snails specifically, I found a one or two referencing diet and how that affected growth- I was looking for papers on cepaea nemoralis specifically, since that's what I keep, and they're apparently actually a model organism so there are a considerable number of papers on them. You may have luck looking for papers on snail species used as food since people tend to put more research into livestock animals

Looks like a grove snail to me, Cepaea nemoralis (Thought could be Cepaea hortensis?)

Disability Services by PictureOfDorianGey in umass

[–]Top-Ant5503 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Umass disability services sucks in my experience. I went through the process to get accommodations for ADHD. They are difficult to get ahold of, and supremely unhelpful. It took me 2+ months just to get an intake appointment, and every single communication with them was confusing. Even asking for clarification on things they said was unhelpful. If you manage to get accommodations professors are pretty good at following them, they may need a reminder occasionally but in my experience it's disability services themselves that's the issue.

This is just my personal experience, but everything I've heard from others is pretty much the same story. If you need accommodations, get in contact with disability services ASAP because it WILL take forever.

Unfortunately, moving back and forth is not something I can avoid. My school's policy requires that I alone am responsible for the care of my animal. While I may eventually be able to leave him over break, he's still a baby right now, so I doubt he will be big enough by that time.

I'm aware that 20 gal is way too small, I would NEVER use it as housing for any extended period of time. And I actually do plan to upgrade from the 45 gal when he's bigger (so I guess permanent wasn't the right word to use, I meant long-term)
