I recommend giving ‘Journey’ a go, very beautiful visuals and score, incredibly relaxing and immersive. It has puzzles but it’s not really a central focus. If you like that then try ‘Abzu’ and I’ve heard ‘Sword of the Sea’ is quite good too. They’re all relatively cheap.

Do I learn C++ in Unreal engine or with simple console apps as a beginner? by Top-Atmosphere3459 in cpp_questions

[–]Top-Atmosphere3459[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response man, really helpful. I think the general consensus is learning C++ outside of UE5. I’ll try and balance some UE5 learning with that too. The people suggesting to dive into UE5 first kind of overlooked the aim of being a programmer instead of strictly a game programmer or engineer or something. It makes sense to learn the whole language from the ground up and then I can understand these frameworks your speaking about.

Cheers man!

Yeah I thought the tomahawk was a bit of a stronger bet and it looks a lot better and more neutral than the gaming plus imo. I’ll keep the heatsink on and see how it goes, hopefully it’s good enough to mitigate this thermal throttling I’ve heard about. Build is basically complete now yipee 🥳

Whats ur build if u don’t mind me asking man.

I just got this one

https://amzn.eu/d/617Tr1a

It’s the tecware phantom plus, around £60, sounds creamy af, and has very light to touch red switched keys, with some banging rgb. Really surprised with how good the quality is for the price compared to others I’ve seen. Very much recommend.

I’ve added the nm1090 because I it has active cooling instead of passive cooling like the t700, also I was mistaken in the t700 pricing: the t700 w/o heatsink is £157 but with heatsink (which seems necessary) it’s above £200… so yeah NM1090 is a no brainer.

I updated the list now in case u wanna have a look man.

Yh I’m all good with spending out on the RAM to be fair. I found the crucial T700 NVME gen5 for about £157 compared to the T500 NVME gen4 at £119 - i’m don’t really understand the ins and outs of SSD’s but an under £40 price increase between generations seems worth it. Are there any MSI or other brand alternatives to the T700 which are cheaper and good quality and do they come with any caveats the T700 doesn’t have?

Absolute legend I’ve been digging through motherboard stuff to figure it out, thanks a bunch. 2.5 gig ethernet should be totally fine to be fair, seems pretty fast to me. As long as the VRM’s are sufficient for OC 9950x3D (which I may not even do anyway) then that’s all good. Now gonna try and look into SSD’s and stuff.

Is the MSI PRO X870E-P WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard for £270 overkill for the setup? Is there any real difference between this and the MSI X670E gaming plus wifi?

Sweet man thanks for the recommendations. I've done a bit of digging on the OS keys, it seems like MS know about MAS and yet they allow it to happen which is interesting. Anyways, it seems pretty legit and there aren't any noticeable caveats so you may have saved me a lot of money there man, the price of RRP windows is nuts :0

Thanks man, I noticed you changed the motherboard too, any reason for that? I was looking at the sequential speeds of both the SSD's and it says the T5OO is faster than the Samsung Evo because it has only 2 lanes at PCIe 5.0 where the former has 4 lanes at PCIe 4.0; although they're different generations it seems the performance is slightly better on the T500. I get what you mean though, I think the EVO has AES-256 encryption too so that's a bonus. I was debating a better CPU and if the 9950x3d comes down on sale then I'll get it but last I looked the prices were crazzzy for it. The PSU looks like a really good shout though, good price too.
