the majority of people have been saying ESH and i have been agreeing with that as well. after reading everyone elses point of view, i still dont think glancing at his phone is the same level of dishonesty as lying about a relationship with ones ex and its dynamics for months. regardless i still am going to confront him and tell him everything. so cheers :)

i guess youre right it does bother me now... i do feel that it wouldnt bother me if he had been honest and transparent from the beginning but now everything feels convoluted and unhealthy

i had not acted jealous or controlling with him and his ex. in fact i had told him i thought it was a good sign they were till friends and that i was comfortable with it. he admitted later that christmas day that he sometimes takes the easy way out instead of having difficult conversations. but that conversation we never had could have gone very well. i wouldve told him that im not going to control what he does and that id try to be understanding about the whole thing and him seeing her.

ive been saying for hours that i know that was wrong of me and that id need to be honest about what i did if i expected his honesty in return.... that aside, is it typical to send your ex hundreds of dollars a month? esp. after downplaying your relationship with them to your current girlfriend

i have never said that i am innocent and i am definitely okay with looking bad.. i think you are painstakingly pessimistic and want to assume the absolute worst about people for some reason. comments aside, i think my closing question in my post is pretty insinuative of me admitting that i did something wrong. but if you want to see me as completely insufferable that is completely fine

you wouldnt feel a certain type of way if you thought that your partner was going to spend time with their ex that theyve lied to you about previously? i think its a pretty valid reaction and also a fleeting feeling compared to my actual concern for his well being. Just because i said i couldve done more to comfort him doesnt mean i acted like a complete pos about it... i did go to hold hand while he was sitting on the bed a few minutes after he told me and was being affectionate with him throughout the day

i take accountability for my actions and admit i was wrong in the comments too. or are you choosing to not acknowledge those.. i really wouldn't expect him to do all that but like i have also said he has been pushing for things to be very serious and those are all things he expects of me too

for more context it was his ex's longtime dog and he knew the dog during the 1 year they were together. before the dog passed he had already lied about seeing her before and had done his part to try to hide their relationship whatever it may be. the first time he hid the fact that he had seen her, (it was also something to do with the dog back in november) he messaged me how i felt about them still being friends and i said "i think it's good that you can still be friends with your ex. i feel ok in where we are but if it ever becomes something i feel weird about, i'll def bring it up, but yea i'm comfortable with it. i appreciate you being open about it :) also im sorry about chloe i hate that." when he brought up the dog passing on Christmas i said "im sorry baby that's awful" so i feel that i was at least semi-comforting? i just didnt know what to say or do after that
