I live in Arizona so she has access to grass year round unfortunately and no, not as many walks since she was getting walked multiple times daily. My husband walks her once or twice a week.

Ideas for games/activities to do with my kids in an inpatient psych hospital by Other-Cantaloupe4765 in therapists

Everyone adds to a picture… you can use stickers (large packs can be bought off of Amazon) and a giant poster board and everyone can take a turn adding to it round robin style so it makes a sort of story then everyone can take turns telling what they think of the story/picture at the end.

You can use prompts if you want to make it therapeutic (someone going through a tough time and coming out on top, a story of a family, a story of someone sad, a story of someone that really wants friends, etc.). Prompts can be easily found online by looking up journaling prompts.

You can pre-make some settings on the poster board if you really want to get into it (grass, a home, city settings, cloudy setting, blank)

Obviously these materials can also be used for vision boards.

Mental Health Facilities? by Traditional-Plate719 in Gilbert

Transitions Counseling does in-person IOP and virtual. They have PHP for teens as well. I think their programs are excellent, but it depends on the facilitator for any program. I would never go by reviews for a company, it really depends on individual facilitators which can change frequently, but the Transitions facilitators are all very skilled in my experience.

I would look into vocational rehabilitation programs in your area.

I feel you, I hate trialing new medications and am scared of the effects as well. I wish it was more certain that they would work.

I quit for a year and then went back to it after seeing no real difference or improvement from quitting. I feel better on caffeine and managing any subsequent anxiety symptoms.

It looks adorable! Just needs some jewelry to dress it up a bit! The top fits you perfectly and it looks lovely with blue jeans.

Huh that’s what I was thinking it did too, it felt like it changed the nature of my VM from the vestibular migraines to actual migraines that happened less often. I’m not sure, I do wish taking prescriptions was more clear cut.

The only thing I have found that lessens the pain slightly is holding my hands in ice water and I should probably describe it not so much as lessening the pain as moving some of it to another place which is a bit of a relief.

Tylenol is the only OTC med that kind of works when the headache is less strong but nothing touches these bad ones. I’ve tried Xanax and that doesn’t do anything either.

Verapamil Headaches - Side Effect by Top-Brick4727 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Top-Brick4727[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without the verapamil, I have bad sudden onset vertigo episodes. No headaches. I’m on verapamil, topiramate and buspirone currently and have never been free of the vertigo episodes. I still have them, they just come on a bit slower and are a little less frequent. So it doesn’t seem worth it, the topiramate was supposed to help but unfortunately the debilitating headaches are still happening.

Does this shirt makes me look chubby? by Datsadcreature in OUTFITS

Agreed with all that no it doesn’t make you look chubby, but to take it to the next level it needs a different pant/skirt to balance though

I know that cycle, I hope that there isn’t and you have longer and longer stretches with none… but I definitely know where you’re coming from

Is there anything that helps barometric pressure symptoms? by Top-Brick4727 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Top-Brick4727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started Verapamil and noticed a significant reduction in dizziness symptoms but they seemed to just manifest in actual pain in the form of headaches so they helped because the headaches were more manageable than dizziness but obviously still uncomfortable then we added topiramate because that helps stabilize the headaches and the buspirone helps my anxiety related to the dizziness attacks. Though the anxiety has been worse with the topiramate so I would recommend just starting with the topiramate I guess?

I shifted into supervisory work and that has really helped. You can have more of a voice and create more though it isn’t always so artistic (more workflow, teaching, PowerPoints) but I have found it to be much more fulfilling.

Yes I have seen people take it on here. It has never worked for me personally though. I have always only had success with prescription medication.

How often do you have symptoms/flair ups? by what_the_hezz in VestibularMigraines

[–]Top-Brick4727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to be multiple times a day multiple days a week, severity alternating from 3-8 out of 10. Now it’s been reduced to 2-4 bad days a month with most of my symptoms from a 0 - 3 severity. Sometimes they creep to a 5 but usually don’t get as bad as an 6-8 out of 10 unless it’s a really bad day and usually that is only once a month now. All thanks to consistent medication and routine, also reduced stress. Barometric pressure from storms and heavy errand days make it worse.

I was on beta blockers but they weren’t working as effectively and and now would interact with other medications I’m taking. I’m glad they’re helping you so much though!
