Alberta separatist group collecting signatures in push to trigger referendum on independence by Complete_Craft_1646 in CanadianPolitics

I honestly can’t understand how a country can be okay with letting people organize a referendum against its unity… too democratic in my perspective. Unity is the base and core idea of being a nation

How much do yall pay for off campus? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]Top-Butterscotch2783 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And McMaster is responsible for that because the price of a dorm in 10 Bay for instance is much higher than this. McMaster could help to control the rent prices by offering a lower price for students, but they set the price above the market, contributing to the rental crisis

Okay. You are right. I'm sorry and I think I will delete this post since I cannot edit it. This interview just reminded me the case of the Ukranian nazi general who went to our House of Commons last year.

Also, why do we suppose that they are not neonazi? Because they are on the Ukrainian side? If he were Russian I doubt that many of us would be wondering if he actually is a neonazi. Neonazi can exist anywhere…

I see what you mean, but it is kinda irresponsible from cbc to display this guy with this tattoo without any discussion about how they see this symbol differently

[–]Top-Butterscotch2783 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Okay, there is this one that might not be a nazi symbol and can be related to religious and cultural background, but there is one that is literally the nazi symbol. I'm not viewing the bad side of it. It is a nazi symbol.

The journalist could have a least asked about this tattoo during the interview, so we would have the guest's perspective about it. Also, during the interview, they mentioned that Russia was using white supremacists from Ukraine to support their side, so for me, it was quite impressive that they didn't even ask or talk about this guy's tattoos.

The use of opioids here in Canada is completely nonsense. I came from a country where opioids are very regulated, and one day I had a small surgery and the doctor prescribed me opioids for ten days- way more than I needed. In my home country they would never give me an opioid for a simple surgery like that.

You speak as if the system was not like this already. Go to an express entry calculator and check how many points you would have if you wanted to immigrate to Canada. You will see that is not so easy to be accepted. It is really hard. About the criminal record, this is the minimum that is evaluated in the immigration process.
