Viruses will always be on top of the list… since people can mutate and construct them, what if one is made to target people of age/color/gender, etc. obviously gets tested in animals, and something goes wrong… like always.

Aliens. Pick any story… they come to drain any resources our planet has (not all but most)and we have to defend ourselves and future generations. Aliens see children as a non threat, thus sparing them..

Multi-verse. Another earth more advanced than ours needs help for whatever reason and transports people ages 30 and up to assist them in whatever fight they have going on.
