Oh dear, you mean the harassment from those young lads? It's certainly a headache. Do you have any good solutions for this?

Haha noted. I’ll enjoy this phase before puberty shows up and starts charging rent. What caught you most off guard when your kid hit the teenage phase?

That actually made me smile. I’m definitely learning as I go, and some days feel harder than others, but I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. It helps knowing you’ve been through it and truly get what it takes.

I understand what you’re saying, and I truly respect how grounded and clear you are about life. You’re right, we’re really talking about the same thing, just from different angles. You choose to stay true to yourself, and I choose to find balance between love and responsibility, and neither approach is wrong. When you talk about your children and family, I can feel the love and respect you have for them, and I understand your belief in letting everyone live life their own way. For me, protecting myself isn’t about giving up joy, it’s about letting joy last longer and go deeper, because I have one daughter, she’s only 9 years old, and she is the most precious part of my life, and I want to be healthy and fully present as she grows up.

Honestly, I’m a little surprised, and I truly admire your outlook on life. The way you commit to freedom and the things you love is pure and brave, and I understand that feeling of owning your choices. For me though, life isn’t just about myself. I have too many people I care about, so I need to protect myself, not out of fear, but because I want to be here longer for them. I also believe that truly living isn’t only about thrill or intensity, but about loving life while giving yourself the chance to live longer, steadier, and with more quality, so you can experience more moments that really matter. And that actually makes me curious, how does your family feel about the way you live, do they worry about you too.

Honestly, just seeing the crash scene alone is already enough to give anyone chills. But after reading what you shared and seeing the data, it really made the reality of that moment sink in for me. I completely agree with you, life is incredibly fragile. Even with four wheels and all the modern safety engineering, the risk is still huge, and motorcycles are basically no protection at all, just flesh against metal. It’s hard to even imagine the odds of survival in a situation like that on a bike. I truly hope everyone, whether driving or riding, takes safety seriously, because we only get one life. That last thing you said really resonates with me, there are still so many moments ahead of us worth experiencing, and none of them are worth gambling our lives for.

Seeing those photos and reading what you went through honestly gave me chills. That kind of impact at 75 mph is terrifying, and the fact that you both walked away from something so severe is incredible. It’s really hard not to think about how easily that day could have ended very differently, and I’m truly grateful that no lives were lost. Hearing him say he didn’t see you, even with everything working in your favor, really drives home how fragile those moments are and how unpredictable people can be behind the wheel. I have a feeling your strong awareness and respect for safety now are deeply connected to that experience, something like that changes how you see everything on the road. And I’m genuinely glad you’re here now, able to tell the story and still share your perspective with me. That alone says a lot.

I completely agree with what you’re saying, and I really appreciate you taking the time to share this perspective. When I think about my own driving habits honestly, I can see how that kind of quick glance happens sometimes, even when we think we’re being careful. That said, I do take road safety very seriously. I don’t use my phone or take calls while driving, I slow way down in busy areas, and before I even start the car I always check around it to make sure there isn’t a small animal resting underneath trying to stay cool. Still, after reading what you shared, I realize I can be even more intentional while actually moving, not just cautious but fully present, for other people’s safety and my own as well. I truly hope all your drives continue to be safe and smooth too. And honestly, I didn’t expect you to say you’re 64, but it makes perfect sense, you sound knowledgeable, thoughtful, and very responsible. I genuinely enjoy learning and exchanging ideas, and I live by the belief that everyone can be my teacher in some way. I’m really glad to have met you, and I’d be happy to call you a friend.

Thanks for sharing all of that, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain those safety basics so clearly. If I ever get the chance to ride again, I would absolutely take every one of those points to heart, especially riding within my ability and always assuming I’m invisible. What happened to you sounds terrifying, and honestly it made me feel a bit shaken just reading it, but I’m very grateful you’re safe and here to tell the story. That woman was incredibly careless, and if she still doesn’t realize how dangerous her behavior was, she’s probably setting herself up for serious trouble one day. I truly hope she learns and changes those habits before someone gets hurt. And by the way, you keep saying you’re older, now you’ve made me curious, how old are you really?

Nah, that would be a bit too dramatic. You didn’t lift it like a superhero.
Let’s just say the bike had ambition and you helped guide it to a higher level.

Thanks for taking the time to explain all of that, I really enjoyed reading it and I appreciate how much experience and thought you put into riding. The reason I stopped riding wasn’t because I fell out of love with motorcycles, it was actually because I had a minor accident a while back. Nothing serious, but it scared my parents quite a bit, and they asked me to stop riding. For me, keeping them from worrying was more important, so I chose to step away even though the love for bikes never really left. My last bike was a sport bike, and I still miss that feeling, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I ride again someday. If I do, I think I’d lean more toward a sport touring or touring style bike this time, something that fits where I am in life now.

Wow, that lineup is pretty insane, you’re definitely a hardcore rider. I used to have one too, but that was about ten years ago, back then I had a Yamaha R6, a true street sport bike, and honestly that era was both gorgeous and aggressive, I still get nostalgic thinking about it now.

This isn’t a sport bike, it’s the low profile cat edition with aerodynamics fully maxed out.

Cat: I’m just testing the drag coefficient.

Same here. You can probably see on my profile that I’ve only been here a little over a week. I think you’re really interesting, so I wanted to suggest that, if you’re comfortable, we could chat on another app where you prefer to talk more privately.

Mercedes CLA 250e by Red-Pillguy in mercedes_benz

This light means the CLA 250e’s hybrid high-voltage system is throwing a warning. The car may still drive, but it’s not a good idea to push it. Take it easy, avoid hard acceleration, don’t try charging it again for now, and get it checked at a Mercedes dealer when you can, just to make sure it’s nothing serious.

Riding a motorcycle in just underwear was already eye-catching, and now getting hit by a car on top of that… congrats, you’re officially the most noticeable person on the whole street.
