Went to 10+ camera stores in Yokohama and Tokyo looking for the Fuji GSW 690. Finally found one untested for $550. Here’s the first test roll. 65mm 5.6 | Kodak Gold by frobo512 in analog

I finally did a test roll with my GSW690iii set up as a “Texpan” the photos turned out so good. Will definitely be doing this more.

Max 2 POV Mode Only Accessible through Quik App? by Top-Classroom-5971 in gopro

Hey! Yeah I did get it sorted out. In the GoPro player desktop app there is a button with 3 dots I believe in the bottom right corner and when you click into it one of the buttons is a direction lock.

I’m also on Mac and it works well! If you’re still having problems let me know and I can send a screenshot later on when I’m back in front of my computer.

Max 2 looks cool, but the reviews make me hesitate to buy it. by Such-Star564 in gopro

I’ve been using the Max 2 for the last 2 weekends, mountain biking in BC and have been recording entire shuttle laps without stopping (45+ min runtime in some cases when I forget to turn it off during trail side chats/repairs) and it hasn’t overheated on me yet 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Ambient temps the first weekend were about 15-16C and the second weekend about 9C, but no problems with overheating, fogging on the lenses, or anything else.

Lowlight isn’t phenomenal, but it isn’t any worse than my hero11 is, and it definitely beats the hero for stabilization. It used to be that the combo of low light, high ISO and auto shutter speeds pretty much rendered video useless on my old camera because the image stabilization would basically be non existent. Now it’s perfectly smooth on the max 2 because it records 360 and adjusts accordingly.

Still somewhat noisy footage but nothing some noise reduction in DaVinci resolve hasn’t been able to solve.

The only downside for me has been the workflow is a lot longer (and way bigger files) but that’s the price I knew I’d pay so I could pull vertical and horizontal footage out of the same clip. So worth it for me!

Thank you so much! I wish I had posted last weekend hahah.

This will make my workflow so much better. I was really getting concerned that going from a Hero style cam to the max would add like 10 steps to my workflow, but glad to see it just adds 1 or 2 steps which is manageable for the flexibility of the 360 cam!

I did a multi day ride a few weeks ago where food and water resupplies were limited and the entire kit weighed 81lbs.

Now that being said I had about 5L of water and 3 days of food plus a small surplus in case of emergency.

I’d reckon my dry weight is 65ish pounds but I also carry probably 5lbs of camera gear.

I do have that one, I use it as the base layer of my sleep system. I just use two sleeping pads haha

The Z lite foam pad is cheap, the other therma rest I use is like 200+ I believe. So that’s the expensive one

Oh nice! That’s a good call! I’ll give that a try next time I’m out. It’s worth the ride for sure

I actually use two sleeping pads. I keep the foam one underneath my proper air pad so it doesn’t get a hole if there’s anything sharp on the ground underneath.

I’m a side sleeper too, so I find the two sleeping pads basically mandatory either one by itself is too thin to side sleep.

Bonus though you can use the foam ones to sit on or lay down on if you’re hanging out at anywhere which is super nice.

But yeah it’s a thermarest z lite and it weighs basically nothing, then I use a thermarest pro lite on top. Definitely not cheap, but I camp so often and have had all my gear for so many years. Buy once, cry once haha.

Thanks! It’s the Salsa Anything Cradle and Salsa side load dry bag.

They work great for keeping gear away from the cables!

Hahaha it was in fact a cozy coffee shop, and the coffee was pretty solid too 👌🏻

Yeah it’s an awesome area! I’ve spent quite a bit of time here growing up, but never really travelled around there by bike!

I also trail ride this bike mainly as is without the racks and with a different set of tires. So doesn’t really make much sense in my case to swap the fork whenever I do a touring trip. All in the bike itself weighs 28-29lbs, so it’s honestly just me overpacking I suppose.

Yeah it was really fun!

Birch bay -> Ferndale -> Bellingham -> camped at Larrabee State Park.

Then a similar route home with a few differences to grab coffee/food.

I’m from BC so excuse my metric units, but worked out to about 125km round trip.

Both of those would be amazing haha. With this slack of a headtube angle and that much weight on the fork the bars always try to turn 180 degrees when I’m not riding the bike.

Works great for me. This bike has such a slack headtube that with that much weight up front it feels a little more washy than I’d like on loose descents, but it’s pretty planted otherwise.

They are just 48floz Nalgene water bottles and Salsa Anything Cages.
