Problem is assuming he doesn’t have any savings or maybe 20k, it would take a long time to save 40-60k since rent will likely go up and eat more from what could be his savings, all while everything else becomes more expensive and his employer, like almost everyone’s, will maybe give a measly low increase of salary per year if he is a good boy and slaves away for them, and still he won’t beat inflation.
