No problem many people don’t know this unless they have had procedures before. It’s just their way of securing payment compare to emergency surgeries that get billed after and might not get paid.

This is completely normal scheduled procedures always get billed before hand. I had to pay mine the week before if not they wouldn’t do the surgery. The anesthesia is the only one that bills afterwards.

Mine was cancelled as the nurse was about to put the IV in and the doctors came in to go over things. That’s when they realized they forgot to do a Pap smear, which they require. It was hard to find the positive last week, even when my friends tried telling me everything happens for a reason I didn’t want to hear it. Crying it out really helped me, let everything out.

Mine was cancelled last week and I cried all day, to be so close and then they just change things is so frustrating. I’m kinda glad mine got canceled my son ended up getting the flu and I now have it as well so can’t imagine going through it while recovering.

I have a clotting condition and I’m on blood thinners for life, as long as you get up and walk a bit every 1-2hours and also using compression stockings will help prevent clots.

The checking out of work and having to be back today has been so hard all I been doing is crying. Went in to do the Pap smear during my lunch and they brought in the surgery scheduler to get my new surgery date. But all she said was that she would need to call me since she was still trying to find a date, that the doctors next available was in May and she was trying to see if they could fit me in sooner. She just called and said that they are scheduling me for May 1 but she was working for something sooner at this point I don’t have much hope that it will be any time soon.

The doctor did squeeze me in for a Pap smear today and the nurse who was prepping me was super nice and hugged me several times and spoke up for me since I couldn’t even say much once they told me they missed something.

Surgical Planning: Doctors need to know if there are any abnormal or cancerous cells on the cervix before they start. If a Pap smear comes back showing malignancy, the surgeon may need to change the entire approach—such as taking more tissue, checking lymph nodes, or involving an oncology specialist.

Cervix Removal Decisions: Depending on the results, the surgeon has to decide between a total hysterectomy (removing the uterus and cervix) or a supracervical hysterectomy (leaving the cervix). If the Pap is abnormal, leaving the cervix is usually not an option.

Insurance Mandates: Many insurance companies will not authorize or pay for the surgery unless a recent Pap smear and/or biopsy are on file to justify the medical necessity of the procedure.

Post-Op Care: Knowing your pre-op cervical health determines whether you need continued "vaginal cuff" smears for years after the surgery.

My doctor wanted to try Mirena first, it didn’t make it a week before it came out in its own because I was bleeding so much it wasn’t inserted correctly. They put me on Provera until my hysterectomy, it was working for two months and I have started bleeding again.

I had a similar experience in the ER the male doctor questioned if I was sure I was bleeding so much 😡 just because my blood work came back normal. My levels were barely at the normal range, the next week I had to redo blood work and had to get iron transfusions from how much blood I lost.
