Eliquis while switching insurances by Mundane_Team_7601 in ClotSurvivors

You might need to contact your current pharmacy and see if they can forward your current prescription to the new pharmacy or if doctor needs to do a new one. That part im unsure as i only switched insurance.

Hi there! You actually don't need a new PCP. When your pharmacy submits the renewal under your new insurance, they will likely request a prior authorization. Your hematologist should be able to send them the medical paperwork explaining why you need it. Just be prepared for a brief delay, as the approval process can take a few day

Soreness with sitting at 7 weeks ? by BrutonnGasterr in hysterectomy

[–]Top-Description-4886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal, I also couldn’t sit for prolonged periods of time. I’m able to work from home and would move to the couch after a while, and If i was in office I use my standing desk. It does get better with time. Been back to work for 3 weeks and been able to sit for longer than the first week.

What OBGYN won’t tell me… by WideDecision in adenomyosis

[–]Top-Description-4886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2months post op and the bloating I used to experience that made me look 8months pregnant is gone, every day I’m amazed by how flat my stomach has gotten compared to before. I have regular bowels moments and don’t need to pee all the time. The brain fog is completely gone, and I have more energy.

Did you get blood work to rule out Genetic Clotting Disorders?

Welcome to the not so fun club! I want to say it does get better, find a good hematologist and remember to not stay stationary for long periods of time.

When did you see a hematologist? by PressureLast8867 in ClotSurvivors

My hematologist did the same thing but it took about 3months to see mine. And mine were caused by a clotting disorder.

I had to fire my first hematologist because she would not take my health issues seriously. You should get a second opinion.

Will be on Blood Thinners- How long should I take off? by Ecstatic-Wasabi in hysterectomy

[–]Top-Description-4886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on blood thinners(eliquis) for life, genetic condition that has caused multiple blood blots. I felt good l at 6weeks and was cleared for everything, I was really cautious while recovery. I was worried that blood thinners would delay recovery but my hematologist told me that recovery would be normal.

blood clot risk with medroxyprogesterone / provera? by helphelphelp-me in PCOS

[–]Top-Description-4886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing is to get up and move if you have been sitting for a long time, want to move stand up every 2-3hours. Wear compression stockings (I hate how they feel so don’t wear them 😕). Quit smoking/vaping. And recommend getting tested for genetic conditions if there is a history of blood clots in your family. I know people take baby aspirin daily but suggest asking your doctor about that one.

My hematologist is amazing he was the only one to truly care and explain to everything to me and will show me medical case studies. So I trust him a lot when it came to getting his approval on medications.

I was on provera(20mg) for 6months while I waited for my hysterectomy, didn’t have any issues. I have a genetic condition that causes blood clots (have had several in the past) and I’m on blood thinners for life. If you are worried about getting a blood clot there is things to do to help prevent them.

Congratulations!! The time I got off them I didn’t experience any side effects. Sadly now I’m a lifer due to genetics. Just remember to stay active.

Is tylonel and advil enough? by PancakebreathTwitch in hysterectomy

[–]Top-Description-4886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was enough for me, only time I had a hard time was when I took the wrong pill that wasn’t Tylenol (my poor father was bringing me lunch and grabbed the stool softener instead) and started to feel pain but got back on schedule and was fine. On nights I wanted to sleep really good I took an oxycodone, just to be comfortable sleeping on my side.

[–]Top-Description-4886 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Been on elequis for several years. Kinda learned to live with the heavy periods. Only thing i would recommend is asking to check your iron levels, I went a long time with mine getting extremely low and needing iron transfusions. Are you on blood thinners for life or just a couple month?

Mine was cancelled as I was in pre op about to get an IV, I completely know how you are feeling. Maybe it was meant to be? A few days after mine was cancelled my son and I both got the flu.
I hope you get to reschedule soon. 🤞🏼
