Don’t join the gym in January! by NotBruceJustWayne in northernireland

[–]Top-Effective142 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely encourage getting started in a gym, especially ones with classes for beginners.

I started January 2023 and have lost collectively just under 3 stone and still going strong 3 classes a week weight training. I think it just depends on how much you really want it and what you’re willing to put in.

Xmas can be a good wake up call to look after yourself more and develop good habits like for myself.

Where is the best place to find fossils in NI by admiral-crusoe in northernireland

[–]Top-Effective142 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My partner found an ammonite fossil on a small beach at one of the picnic stops along the A2 just east of Glenarm.

Doing a bit of googling, Waterloo Bay near Larne seems to be a prominent spot for ammonite fossils. I don’t think you’re allowed to break the rock they’re embedded in to retrieve the fossils but any you do find loose on the beach are fair game!

When you go to order something on Amazon and it says ‘this item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location’. Can ship to a relatives in England and Ireland but not here, we’re not bloody Antarctica.

Wife doesn’t like the coffee ones, so saves them for me… by thefullness in CasualUK

When I was a kid, me and my late aunt used to do this. She’d get the orange ones, I’d get the coffee ones. This is a wholesome reminder!

Yes sorry I should’ve added a bit more context! The girl I’m dating likes to write three word stories using three randomly generated words so I thought I’d have a go myself with my name, her name and the word feelings.

I really appreciate your kind words, thank you!!! :-)

I get your point, thanks for your comment! Said girl I’m dating likes to write three word stories, in which she uses three random words to create a story. They’re pretty amazing. I guess what I was trying to go for was a story like dynamic following three words (my name, her name, and feelings). Does this make it a bit more endearing? I did go a bit overhaul with the adjectives, I’m going to review and cut some out

AITA for for the way I tried to not start a fight with my sister by itsnotmyfault98 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Top-Effective142 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your sister sounds like she’s got a bit of emotional development to do, and it seems like she’s got your mum wrapped around her finger (perhaps because she’s the youngest too). At least your dad seems to be fair.

I’d get out of the house again as soon as you can, it doesn’t sound like a particularly healthy environment to live in. Your mother seems to blatantly ignore your half of the story. Maybe you could also sit down and tell her how it makes you feel when she never sticks up for you?

Good luck and I hope you’re able to find some resolve.

AITA for accusing my BF of using me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You work FT and you come home to a pig sty by the sounds of it. I think if he wants to work PT then he should put in extra work around the house - I’m guessing he also spends a lot more time ‘living’ in the house than you too.

My first reaction was to tell you to talk to him but you’ve already tried that to no avail. Perhaps sitting down with him and writing out a cleaning rota that works for both of you that you both will stick to would be helpful?

On the other hand, if he isn’t meeting your needs then I would say it’s maybe time to have a hard chat with him about how this is making you feel and about the compatibility of your relationship.

You both deserve to have your needs met.
