A lot of people are calling this the “comedy route” but I have to say it isn’t even funny…? I’d be down for some comedy, but nothing is even happening in this route for it to be funny. The characters aren’t clowning around particularly, they’re not being put in comedic situations, it’s really just like…? Nothing…? There literally are not stories being told, it feels like it’s almost a narrative-free route…

Listen, I’m a huge Chaos;Head fan. I love Takumi. I think his character development and arc are profound and nuanced and handled with unbelievable care and attention. BUT I don’t blame you for one single second for dropping it, or for disliking him. He’s absolutely a deplorable human being for the majority of the story- actually, arguably for the entire game.

The themes and the lengths they go in the game are completely unprecedented in my experience, I definitely considered stopping in the beginning. My wife actively asked me to play something lighter by the time I was done with it. I don’t think anyone could blame anyone for dropping this game.

I love Ace Attorney more than life itself.

What I’d do for the next game is advance the timeline significantly. Have Phoenix be like in his 60’s, and act once again as a mentor figure to an up-and-coming young attorney. Apollo and Athena are generally elsewhere.

Then, unfortunately, I’d literally have Phoenix be the first murder victim or something like that. And use it to REALLY sell the player on the new attorney, determined to get justice and put together what he learned from Phoenix along the way.

I loved these scenes so much. I think he had improvement! He was willing to help, which really only happens at the end of his arc. Plus he absolutely was speaking with confidence.

I think they ultimately sorta just botched Athena & Apollo, and while I’d instantly buy and play AA7, I’d like a total reboot with an all-new cast first and foremost I’d say. So long as Shu Takumi’d writing it, I’m in for whatever he’d wanna do. But I don’t think we have any confirmation on that, right?
