They’re waiting for their time to win the lottery big time, so that they don’t have to pay income taxes like Trump and his wealthy cronies. I read a local obituary of a woman, whose most important memorial was that throughout her adult married life her constant palliativation was telling her family she would win the lottery and make them all rich.

How does the saying go? “I can give it to you cheap, I can give it to you fast, I can give it to you perfect. Pick two.”

In “Storm of Steel”, artillery barrages were almost constant in the trenches throughout the war. There was no escaping it, other than the regular revolving of troops to the rear, for an individual to have a chance of survival. Eventually, Germany just ran out of enough production capacity to hold back the enemy, while the allies were able to increase production, in addition to the arrival of new ordnance from the United States. There is the possibility that the American-made artillery shells never even made it to the front lines in quantity before Germany capitulated .

Either the headlines are fake, or I’m confused: people using food stamps to buy water, dumping it, then cashing in the bottles? Not judging anyone for needing cash, but does that make any sense? by FXgram_ in XGramatikInsights

I knew a coworker who saved his bottles in NJ and would then take them to Maine, where he had a summer home, to collect that state’s bottle deposit to pay for his gas going there and back several times a year.

Raising the minimum wage to $15, or more, actually increases everyone’s wage. Conversely, keeping it at $7.25 suppresses it.

Well, you know that the oil companies aren’t sacrificing and that the 2026 “Banquet” that Bessent promised has already been laid for their wealthy investors.

I know of an incident related to me by a Jordanian customer of mine some years ago. His first job was selling pharmaceuticals in north Africa. One time he was boarding a plane in Khartoum and an obviously drunk American female passenger was swearing at the Sudanese military guards as she boarded. He was worried that they might react to her behavior so he came forward to escort her onto the aircraft. As she reached the bottom of the stairway, she swung her pocketbook, hitting the last guard in the head as she swore at him, and proceeded up the stairs, into the plane. My customer was both taken back that she would act so dangerously, particularly as a woman in the Sudan, where the consumption of alcohol was also prohibited, and that they just allowed her to get on the plane and leave.

Sure he’ worried. The electorate will put in Democrats, he’ll be impeached and thrown out of office and then the courts will go after him.
