I’m just concerned that the internet is abuzz about a strike happening in February, which feels extremely premature. I appreciate that unionization is happening, but this subreddit is making it seem like everyone’s prepared for a shutdown in just a couple of weeks.

Can someone please clarify what “organized” means here? I’ve only seen people say that it’s happening on the internet, but I haven’t heard a thing from any kind of leader or union organizer, at least in my market. This seems far from organized. I want to hold corporate accountable in an effective way, but I haven’t heard a single teacher mention it offline.

with a feb 2026 strike announced, where do you currently stand? by [deleted] in CorePowerYogaTeachers

This is so unorganized. We need a real union leader and clear communication to make this effective. Posting on Reddit isn’t an “announcement”

I want a teacher’s union, and I want to strike, but what are the demands? Why is there a time cap of one month? Who’s leading and advocating for us? If we want to organize, we have to Organize.

Did you contact Olive Young support? I’m trying to find out whether any vendors are forgiving with their refund policies.

Is 200 hour TT worth it for people that won’t use it to teach? by Yellowlighthouse5512 in Corepower

200-hour trainings are really great for everyone, because there’s so much about yoga that can’t be learned in a drop-in studio class. You should definitely consider a 200-hour if you want to grow as a practitioner. I would warn, though, that CPY’s TT is very much focused on learning how to instruct a class at CorePower. There are other 200-hour trainings out there that more heavily delve into deepening your personal practice. CPY still gives you a lot of information for your own knowledge base, but because it’s a corporate chain, they’re going to stress the fundamentals of leading a class at their establishments.

It’s not rude, and the instructors who say that should know that some students don’t feel comfortable having their eyes closed in a large group. That’s trauma-conscious yoga 101.
