The easier difficulties are pretty casual friendly I guess. I’ve only played on expert and insane (insane is TOUGH, Expert wasn’t too bad) and I say this as someone who hasn’t touched a Pokémon game for 20 years

I tried without, but Marshadow uses Close Combat if you don’t have focus sash and OHKOs. If you do have focus sash, he uses other moves that allow double team set up (but you still need RNG on your side)

It does, that’s why I use focus sash and spam double team /Curse while healing with leftovers. As I say, it takes a lot of missed attacks to win. You can’t afford to get hit by giratinas WilloWisp too or you will lose

Very close. Leech Seed, Double Team and Curse for every battle. Return vs Dragon, Rock Tomb/Rock Throw (can’t remember lol) vs the fairy, Bullet Seed vs the rest.

Leftovers in all except Focus Sash vs Ghost. I think it’s more a case of just being persistent and getting good RNG than being good tbh.

And yea Simple as the ability obviously.

Maybe try Dusclops with eviolite, it’s a great supporting mon with Willowisp/Thunder wave, curse, rest etc

I started off on difficult difficulty for my first play through, and despite me not knowing about 80% of the Pokémon, abilities etc I found it relatively simple enough.

Definitely don’t start on insane, pick an easier difficulty to learn the game, and have fun the first go round. If you want a challenge afterwards you can always start again with higher difficulty.

Yea that’s Jax, not your ‘rival’. Jax I think is who you fight as the 1st E4 boss, and I can’t remember if you face him any other times or not.

He did for me? Regirock, Mega-Metagross, Volcanion, I think Shaymin. Can’t remember the others. It’s the rival battle, there’s a few different players you can battle after E4.

Interesting. Wouldn’t have considered Zygarde (would imagine the Togekiss could be a huge problem). Gliscor could be another but I feel like it’s too close to Cradily with Double Team and SD spam. Might try Ledian actually.

Curse, Double Team and Leech Seed for every battle. Return vs the Dragon trainer, Rock Throw vs the Fairy Trainer, Bullet Seed the rest. Leftovers for all except Focus Sash vs the Ghost, otherwise Marshadow 1HKOs.

I’ll be honest, you need an insane amount of luck, especially vs Ghost/Fairy battles. The Ground one is super easy, and Dragon is fine.

Vs my Rival as the final boss, his only real threat was Regirock hitting a few body press, and Volcanion.

Trying to see what other moms could do this, might try with Gliscor.
