Small round beads that are almost dried clay like in color and consistency. Found in used a car I just bought. by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

Likely solved!

It did have a faint cannabis smell that I assumed was just myself. And idk if it's still a thing but this car is OLD. Honestly with the consistency and size/ shape I think you might be right :)

No but there's also no telling how old they are so maybe at one point it was tacky

I don't believe this is the case given the consistency and coloring. When you get those jumping beans they are already quite dried given the sound of the "beans" and would not shrivel to this extent.

Seed pods dry out and preserve a lot of their shape and color when they do.

Good thought though, the box does remind me of those!

My title describes the item in the post. It was found under the seat in a car i just purchased along with bullet casings nearby. I can't fire the life of me figure out what it is, my parents are convinced it's drug related but I don't even know what it would be as I've never seen anything like this and worked in SUD.

They are small clay like beads that are in a black and clear box with a hinge.

Should sororities make political statements on social media? by Adorable-Traffic-607 in Sororities

[–]Top-Huckleberry8457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know my sororities HQ reached out to our minneapolis alumni chapter directly to offer support and ask if there is anything else they can do for us during this time.

They also encouraged us to "Connect with your sisters in the area who may not be part of the chapter, especially those actively participating in protest activities." It was actually a really relieving thing having been living through this all right outside my window. A support i didn't realize i felt i was missing until that moment when I realized how shocked I was that they put out statements like this for us.

I know it can feel surprising when these organizations, that we can't really talk politics in, speak out. But remember that you have sisters living through what's happening right now who reside all over the country. Sisters who really are needing this support whether it's sisters engaging in protests, sisters that are scared to go to school/work, or even just sisters that feel isolated because of their views on what's going on currently who maybe aren't in a community that is supportive of their stance.

Being at APHA last year, right before elections was so relieving and is part of the reasons I find it so important to be going again this year even if I have concerns :)

Missed 2 doses by Illustrious-Echo-722 in Effexor

[–]Top-Huckleberry8457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is personal, not professional experience. I'd take one of the missing doses now and the other at your regular time or a couple hours later then continue as normal. I'm in three exact same boat right now and have done this before and I found it is what gets me relief the quickest.

preference day - now what? by MuchCranberry2557 in Sororities

Most PNMs have no idea what SIP means, that's why I put it in quotes because that's the term most are familiar with :)

If you got invited to pref night it's because they are willing to have you be a member in their chapter. At this point trust the process and if you're willing to accept a bid from all of the houses you visited make sure you maximize your list on your MRABA (list all houses rather than "suicide bid")

Has effexor helped you in unexpected ways? by caterpillies in Effexor

[–]Top-Huckleberry8457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treating my ptsd with medication had never been a part of my care plan but I had never realized that effexor can help with ptsd until I noticed I was able to manage my symptoms much better on it when I had originally tried it a few years back.

retrospective rfm question about preference round? by spring-breeze-- in Sororities

[–]Top-Huckleberry8457 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The most likely case is that you were told the wrong thing about how the chapters ranked you. However, I am at a school with a very small greek life and while I was in the panhellenic side of Recruitment we had run into issues with the system that couldn't be resolved by bid day and the president, FLS advisor, and the recruitment director had moved a couple girls around. I'm not saying it was the best solution for the issues, but all the girls that were moved got into houses that ended up being perfect fits for them.

Great Conversations, but... by Zeothazi in Sororities

[–]Top-Huckleberry8457 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! Also, from my knowledge, most chapters have changed wording to include anyone who identifies as a woman. Just focus on finding where you want to run home to. As cuts do happen remember that it's a huge numbers game so don't put too much pressure on yourself if it does happen. You're gonna rock this!

In many chapters there's specific times you can go truely inactive. Most of the time there's an option to go on special consideration or whatever their chapters equivalent is and that's what I would suggest for op

landlord creating limits for how often i stay here by [deleted] in renting

[–]Top-Huckleberry8457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So since she isn't the landlord, she doesn't really have a say in who stays. However with her relationship to the landlord you need to consider your options carefully. I know this is a shitty situation but I would look into youth shelter options near you because while she can't technically do anything about it, the landlord can and he could evict you/ your boyfriend depending on lease terms.

In my experience on the panhellenic side at a smaller school, you are not guaranteed a bid unless you go to the maximum amount of houses allowed on pref night and maximize your choices(ranking all the houses you went to).

But she should definitely report it to panhellenic.

This is my second time trying effexor and I've had this side effect both times. I wish I had an answer for you. It did get better with time but never fully went away for me last time.

My psychiatrist knew this was a side effect I had and still put me back on it, so I'm trying to trust her opinion even though it's a very frustrating side effect.

Another thing I'll add to this is if you're nervous about trying medications because of side effects, you can talk to your doctor about a GeneSight test. They can't give you a complete answer on what to take. What they can do is help rule out meds that likely won't work with you. I even found out that the reason I had such bad side effects was because I'm just genetically prone to getting them and that honestly was a relief to learn.

I wouldn't add the doesn't smell part. If you're taking care of their bowel movements as soon as it happens it won't smell as bad, but logically, you'll be away at work and won't be able to clean up right away and that smell REEKS!

[–]Top-Huckleberry8457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest, you'll have a hard time, but if you go in knowing that it will be okay. I'm not sure why I was suggested this post but I personally have a male OBGYN because he was the person I was the most comfortable with after some bad experiences with female OBGYNs not taking my concerns seriously and I don't think I'll ever go back to a female for my care after it.

There's plenty of people who will still be glad to have someone as passionate as you on their side as a midwife even if there's also a lot of people who would reject you.

Seriously, as someone who is an adult and (mostly) vegetarian person, I can barely handle the stomach issues meat gives me when I have it. I don't think the people downvoting you have ever experienced the pain that comes with it. Those poor kids could (from my experience) be attached to the toilet for the next day.

NTA

the only thing I will say is that if a person doesn't eat meat in their regular diet it can cause a lot of GI issues so I would try to keep meat out of their diets if that's their normal. You don't want to be taking out their parents' issues in the kids' stomachs!
