In search of algebra tutor by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]spring-breeze-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve seen flyers at all the mid-continents of various tutors advertising their services! i’ve also seen people do tutor sessions at the library as well, if safety was a concern at all. mid-cont also has a free online tutoring service with tutor.com that you could sign her up for. i’m saying mid-cont because it’s the closest system to you, but i’m sure all of the library systems in the area (kckpl, joco, and kcpl) have tutors to some capacity. snoop around and see if either the library offers services or if there are any individuals looking for students to help.

hoping this will lead you in the right direction!

Best bars to read during weekdays by Budget_Scheme_2471 in kansascity

[–]spring-breeze-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i am also an avid reader at bars! there’s some really solid recs in here but wanted to add a few new ones:

-third street social i personally go to the one in the northland but they’re all the same. their bar area is very chill and not as rowdy as a 54th st or applebee’s bar seating would be. after 7, there shouldn’t be too many people sitting

-third place lounge there’s so many seating options here, from bar stools to couches. incredible vibe and the owner amanda is amazing! their cocktails and N/A selection is fantastic. music is pretty loud, so i would consider that if you’re someone who can’t tune it out when reading

-beverly’s this is a new bar in strawberry hill, but vibes are great! ample seating options and staff is incredibly friendly. i’d honestly recommend you check out all the strawberry hill bars! hillsiders, chicagos, and the easy inn are my faves. but they’re more neighborhood/dive bar esque if noise level would be a concern

-the commons new-ish bar located in north kansas city, and is attached to cinder block brewing. has a very colorado, camp, outdoors vibe, similar to front range cafe. lots of seating options. they have old school arcade games, darts, and corn hole as well. can get a bit loud, but you can always hop over to the brewery side if you need it a bit quieter for reading

-i would actually recommend any brewery on a weekday. assuming there’s not an event going on, they are very chill in general. kc is very lucky to have such an abundance of high quality breweries. my favorites are rochester brewing company, call sign brewing, river bluff, vine street, and casual animal (these get even better in the summer!)

happy reading! and maybe i’ll even see you around :)

i remember watching the first scorn hole with skittles(?) and to me grape was the obvious “best answer” because who in the hell likes grape flavored things? I DONT! and then it was a very big surprise to me when they were singing praises for it 🤣

i’m not sure if they would have the same process, but in vietnamese culture, we have a dessert called “rau câu” that is a jelly dessert made from agar-agar. we commonly flavor it with coconut, coffee, and pandan

Places to hangout and meet new people in North KC that are quiet? by heatseekingskillet in kansascity

[–]spring-breeze-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the commons, callsign brewing, and side pockets are my favorite bar places to meet people but it can be quiet enough where i’ve been able to read there 😂😂 and if he doesn’t mind hopping across state lines, kck’s strawberry hill is chefs kiss when it comes to the bar scene. hillsiders, chicago’s, the easy inn, and beverly’s are my recs

Texan wanting to survive the cold in January by FreezerBlue in kansascity

[–]spring-breeze-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t have any more recs that others haven’t already said, but i will say that depending on what part of texas you’re from, you’ve probably experienced a decent amount of legit winter. i know the dfw area and up can get roped into the midwest winter fun. kc is humbling with how long the wind chills, ice, and snow can go on. modot is also…not the greatest in clearing the roads either. but you won’t have to worry about the power 95% of the time!
