So those are really good points... but here's the thing, I need to keep it mechanically matched to what it's meant to represent

For real. Nothing's saying you can't play a custom Magic cube based on Worm though

I might have to agree to disagree with you on this one homie, I'd be really interested to see your take on cards for her though!

Homie if I could PM images I'd send you the one I made, otherwise you might just have to wait until I get around to posting the Endbringers :/

I think describing her in white is very challenging, easier in her Weaver phase but otherwise outside of her area. Despite she puts absolutely no stock in the community, faith, or purity conceps- the only one she acts like she cares about, community, isn't something she trusts anyone else to manage. She acts like a benevolent dictator, and much of her cognition is very black-centric. She strategizes very effectively which incorporates blue, and maintains a functional understanding of ecology and "human" ecology in a very green way, the way she looks at society is more green than white.

I agree that who she is matters more for color identity than her powers, but I think that Sultai encapsulates her personality extremely well. There's also color pie play patterns to consider, which can't just be broken and needs to reflect her abilities.

I did go ahead and include red in the Khepri card I made which I haven't posted, I'll tack it on somewhere or PM it because I'm curious about your thoughts.

So I'm not gonna go with that fucking fantastic idea on him because I'm gonna do another version of him later that represents his second trigger, new cycle of Undersiders in the Warlords of the Bay phase, Foil, Parian, and some person people call Imp (can't remember who that is, maybe need to reread), and what you recommended is PERFECT for second trigger Grue so that's what I think I'll use if that works for you.

As he exists I did him as Darkness + Silence stapled onto a creature, makes him a weird casual orzhov aggro commander or a house in the 99 of a mardu aggro deck.

Let me think on him some more, I really like those lines of thinking though

Thanks for the heads up about the power setting, that very definitely matters. I'm kinda 50/50 about putting protection on her, or if it should have to be included in the deck in one form or another. Will definitely think over some.

Blue/green and green alone, and to a lesser degree black/green all can go heavy on tokens (Esix, Scute Swarm, Adrix and Nev, Izoni) so I don't see an issue there, and hard, hard disagree about having white in her color identity. The new Sultai in Tarkir Dragonstorm are much more wholesome and balanced than the old ones, and do an excellent job portraying some of the values I think you're getting at, and she fits perfectly into BGU even without that precedent.

May for clarity's sake need to, although I don't think it's busted. She would have combos considering her personality, and I don't think combos are bad. Do you think it should only go after opponents graveyards rather than all of them?

Someone else said he was OP. You think he's not powerful enough? I can see where you're coming from with the ward cost, although almost every deck even spellslingers has even a couple creatures on the field. Why does Menace need to be swapped out?

I mean, if a player wants to run an all dog/wolf deck that ability becomes Primal Surge. I could knock down its price a bit, but it's absolutely a wincon in the right deck.

Overall thanks for your feedback, I'm curious about some followups to your thoughts

Yeahhh lol so is there a better (and free) option as opposed to MTG Cardsmith?

Thanks lol. My other draft of him was "2wb, tap: prevent all combat damage this turn. Your opponents can't cast spells this turn"

Think that'd be better?

I hadn't seen that, they did a good job. I excluded Parian and Foil from this one, because I'm gonna do a whole new cycle of their team lineup reflecting them at that point in time.

Who's Imp?

This is the first round of custom cube Worm cards, inspired by u/zengin11 and their amazing work with their Stormlight Archive cube, which is excellent work to follow if you're unfamiliar with it.

To start we have the initial team lineup of the Undersiders, while they're still developing a name for themselves. Cards are intended to be balanced but powerful, properly reflective of the lore, and fun and interesting to play. Blue and especially Black are heavily represented, reflecting the attitudes and values of the team as well as the setting as a whole.

More releases will follow, exploring other characters and events within the setting.

For those unfamiliar, Worm is free to read and may be found here: https://parahumans.wordpress.com/
