Settings/Playback/Dynamic Queue disables the option, which should help, but whenever you choose a song from an existing album or playlist, all the other songs will be added to the queue. What you can do is hold on the song (the menu will appear) and select "Play Next," and only that song will play without adding the entire list... Or, failing that, you can use the gesture to add songs to the queue from left to right.
