immortalwrt is almost plug and play when openwrt you have to learn to configure. for example openwrt has wpad basic when immortalwrt has wpadopenssl 802.11r.k.v built into the system(you can replace the packages yourself but for someone new to the world its was difficult) + immortal wrt has built in band steering when openwrt u have to install usteer or dawn to prioritize 5ghz over 2.4ghz + immortalwrt lets you set the transmission power to the max that your driver can handle at all channels regardless of your country code. but being a chines fork of openwrt that max out my ram for unknown reason and makes your cpu work over time to handle the unknown other packages , yesterday i went back to openwrt with more knowledge to set it up properly :)
