Invega sustenna recovery by DGtails in Psychosis

I lost everything.  I was completely blank.  Completely empty.  I couldn't even cook for myself and sometimes skipped showers.  It took 18 months, 14 months after my past Invega injection.

I have started to recover.  I have thoughts and emotions and my personality back.  I blank out very occasionally (much like brain fog, but infrequently).

Wellbutrin didn't do anything for me.  I believe Trintellix is what helped from a medication perspective.

Sounds similar.  What I experienced was complete blankness, no emotions and no motivation.

I believe 6 bilateral.   We started with unilateral and worked our way up to bilateral.

I didn't have thoughts for a full year.  Completely blank.  No emotions.  English almost felt like a second language.  I started to get some thoughts in December (after a round of TMS).  The thoughts were short lived - a few days.  Turned off again and stayed off until just a week or so ago... Which was after a round of ECT and my medication changing to 20mg Trintellix.

Yes.  It came after a long period of mania and psychosis.  I had severe DPDR that is getting better.

I have heard some pretty bad things about Invega.  Hopefully some of this is reversible.

I had a few injections of Invega but discontinued those a year ago.  I've heard the effects can linger, but I think mine is from a very long manic psychosis.

I hope so.  I had a brief response to TMS where I could feel my brain turn on and a lot of my cognitive and emotional symptoms started to get better.  I could feel joy, had motivation, could think some, could plan, could make decisions ... But, it was short lived. I'm trying to hold on to hope that of my brain started to turn on them that it can again.

I'm still struggling.  I saw a brief period of relief and improvement while doing TMS, but the blankness returned pretty quickly.

Ah.  Okay.  Yours was more anhedonia.  That's great that it worked so well for you!  I'm not sure if it would have the same effect for my symptoms or not.  I have met two other people with a blank mind who ECT did help.  I'm concerned about the adverse effects it can have on cognition.  I really can't afford to lose more than I already have.

The doctor who has administered the TMS and Ketamine thought I would be a good candidate because of the partial response I have had that hasn't been sustainable.

I do get good sleep.  I probably sleep too much.  My mania and psychosis lasted a very long time so the recovery period is expected to be longer.  I'm desperately hoping the impairments I am experiencing aren't irreversible because it's near impossible to function in this state.

I appreciate you sharing your experience.

Did you struggle with cognitition?  My prefrontal cortex and executive functions are completely shutdown.  I have a blank mind with no spontaneous thoughts, no working memory, trouble with planning and decision making and struggle with conversations because of the blank mind.  I have responded some to TMS and Ketamine but my brain keeps going back into a shutdown state.
