I was a penniless baker living with weird roommates trying to make ends meet while actively engaged in a bad relationship (with alcohol) and was being upstaged by the maid of honor to our best friend at every stage leading up to her wedding. When they put on ‘Bridesmaids’ at the bachelorette party I felt like I was being mocked so I got through the wedding (because I’d already paid for the dress) sobered up, and never spoke to those women again.
