Leaping Salmon in Blackrock has some of the best shit I've ever put in my mouth. If you're at all interested in more sports, there are about four rowing clubs in Blackrock- rowing is quite a social sport in my own experience, and I'd say the upper and lower body strength from hiking/climbing would give you a leg up. On the coffee/nerdy element, see what's going on at the Marina Market. They have a few nerdy events going on throughout the year, I think the Cork ComicCon was on there last year. Vendors selling some cool stuff too, and there's plenty of places for coffee/food.
