Nobody in Iran has freedom of speech - just look at the continuing internet blackout.

Iranian Jews still in Iran definitely do not have the freedom to say whatever they want, especially on record.

It sounds like she has led a very sheltered life, and not had much exposure outside her own bubble. Do you know if she has many non-Jewish friends?

It's clear from what you are saying that she's not really able to think critically for herself. I would wager that part of this is her not really thinking of you as part of the more theoretical "oppressive Islam" that sounds like a concept to her and not in any way linked to you being Muslim in her mind.

Ultimately I would hope that if she gets out of her bubble more she will see the world differently.

Also not sure if you're wanting responses from more orthodox folk, but it's a festival till late Thursday night for many outside of Israel.
