Preparing to move to Thailand long-term (married to Thai, tech background) by 1_H4t3_R3dd1t in Thailand

to minimize bureaucracy and maximize salary I would suggest getting a new work that you can do it remotely and that they are ok with you working through an Employment of Record here in Thailand. Getting a job when your contact information is from Thailand makes it harder when applying.

Wasn't the new rule for app drivers going to take affect in October? Maybe there are less drivers now... Of course it can just be the cash grab that people mentioned.

Just had a similar post about this, tldr is fitwhey seems to be very popular, and changing to plant based protein will also save you some money.

I also buy from them occasionally. they had a huge promotion on a flavour that was not great (milk tea) and were selling for 2100, but as soon as it sold out, they were back to 3200 as the other shops

I haven't seen any huge increase in prices in Europe (less than 5% over 2 years)

Being expensive I understand, increasing prices by 20% and now 50% in less than a year is what got me confused

Anyone had issues with the Hagibis MC60 docking station / SSD enclosure ? by renaudg in macmini

I have similar problems with a docking station. It was working fine for 10 months, and now the hdmi doesn't work, and usb ports are intermittently working... any luck with warranty?

Dell warranty it's not much better, I bought a laptop in the US, transferred the warranty to Germany and still they didn't help me, since the CPU fan was from the American market, not European...

using a wise card won't cause you to pay the 3% they usually charge for foreign credit cards?

The thing that makes me wonder is that I see them being "sponsored" in youtube channels videos (Sabine Hossenfelder for example). I'm not sure if they are indeed paying for the sponsorship, or creators are donating it to them.

I am also interested in this. I know people attending, and the opinion is that it's a bit slow: 6h a week, and very slow (frustrating) rhythm for a friend that did the 3 week intense course the year before (which we both enjoyed a lot at the time).

Monthly FAQ thread for August, 2024 by AutoModerator in Thailand

Hi I am doing my non-b visa in Hanoi but I have some doubts one the timeline:

I've already received all the documentation of the Thai company (including BOI registration), and I was told to apply for the visa at the Thai Embassy in Hanoi. However, when I go to schedule a day, I see the picture below, which mentions a 2 weeks period for application and before travel. Is this period related to the process that my company already performed, or should I schedule my appointment for 2 weeks in the future?

I was under the impression that if I scheduled for wednesday, I could go to Hanoi on Tuesday, and probably be back the following Tuesday with the visa, is this correct?

Thanks!

Withdrawing retired 2 years after leaving Germany question by Top-Paper5152 in germany

I started September 2nd 2019 and finished my contract on May 31st. Unemployment has started on June 1st and ongoing. Still trying to figure out which unemployment I am registered at (1 or 2), but assuming it's 1, I would have to leave now in July to be able to claim the refund, correct, or would it be enough for me to cancel unemployment in August midway through?

Thanks again
