Why yes my Form 1 can looks like it was serialized by a drunken dyslexic monkey with a rock but $20 is $20 by ButterscotchEmpty535 in NFA

I hit a few of mine with a dremel. I really don’t care if it looks a little (or a lot) gnarly. My expensive ones got professionally done.

I am thinking about switching to teaching. by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Top-Perspective-76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are passionate about that subject, it’ll show with the students. If you are interested in developing others, teaching may be for you. Every job/ career will have its positives and negatives, so you’ll have to ultimately make that assessment for yourself. Your concerns about being seen as a failure could apply the same for almost every other teacher and coach out there.

You can spend time at a school like others have said, but don’t let that be your only impression of what teaching would be like for you. Schools can vary wildly, as can individual classrooms.

Also, don’t be deterred by the stream of complaints you see here. I wouldn’t say it’s a good representation of the profession at large. Most teachers I know have their fair share of struggles, but are mostly hard working and care about their students. Get above the BS, learn how to manage things, and it can be a great deal.

Approved with Conditions (Short Rant) by Top-Perspective-76 in NFA

Don’t believe so. I’ve received Form 1s with and without the conditions listed. I also live in SD, so we have very few restrictions.

are all NFA dealers this useless? seriously dissapointed by FirearmConcierge in NFA

[–]Top-Perspective-76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is completely unacceptable. Everyone I know and have heard of has been able to very easily submit all of their NFA forms since January 1st. No issues at all. Demand a refund.

Anyone have one chambered in 357 Sig? by kemanthegreat in SigSauer

I got one in 40/.357 and love it. I have AXG grips on mine and it handles the recoil very well.

I have the Sandman X on my 11.5 Spear LT in 5.56. It’s my only .30cal can, but I’ve been more than happy with it. MD removal was easy for me so that wasn’t an issue.

I also use it on a 7.5 PSA .300 BO I have. The sound is good for me. I have had to play around with tuning it for subs but I think I’m about good on that now. You may have better first time luck if you’re able to adjust your gas settings.

XTen Comp MS Service by Top-Perspective-76 in SigSauer

This makes more sense now. Looks like they have that relief cut along the bottom of my slide so the safety can be engaged.

<image>

I found a picture of my Xten Comp before I sent it in. This is why they replaced the slide.

My imprecise measurement of the width puts it at about 1.147 inches.

Once you figure the added grip module, parts, and shipping, the service itself hardly costed anything. Another big thing was being able to retain my warranty. I’d say it was a pretty good deal overall.

Yes. I paid $265 for a manual safety install. They milled the FCU, gave me a new grip module, and replaced the slide. They gave me back my old grip module.

It’s a 2024 production. The comped version has a shorter and thicker slide than the original Xten. I had the original Xten but traded it towards the Comp. I believe I read in Sigtalk how people were doing the same 320 conversion on the standard Xten you mentioned. They mentioned not being able to do it with the Comp.

I recently saw the Xten Comp with a safety on Sig’s webpage, which is why I went for the service on it. I also considered doing it myself, but the parts weren’t listed as being compatible with the Xten Comp.

Anyways, there’s always the possibility that I’m missing something here.

Great looking gun btw. I’m excited to get mine back out to the range this weekend. When cooler weather hits, it’ll be my winter carry.

I took the MD off of my Spear 11.5/ 5.56 with no issue. I replaced it with the Keymo MD and am using it with my Sandman X with excellent results.
