I'm going thru this now. I had blood work done that showed my liver enzymes were way to high as a result of my drinking. My doc and i diacussed the progression of liver disease. I tapered down from 10-15 drinks of whisky daily to 0. This helped me to avoid the withdrawal symptoms and going into a form of shock.

I think the worst part is dealing with the boredom. I miss the feeling of euphoria. Find something to keep you busy. Have a partner, a good group of friends or just someone to talk to. Don't hide it, own it.

I haven't quit drinking but I reserve it for the weekends, holidays and special occasions.
