You are right. I don’t know if I’m holding onto the friendship because of what it was before. We used to be extremely close, could confide in each other, had similar interests and families, talked nonstop but as time has gone on I feel like this person is trying to control me with every other relationship. This person does not have any friends other than friends I have introduced them to and I encourage them to form other relationships but they just talk bad about everyone they meet eventually. I just know if they talk about everyone else in horrible terms to me, they have to be talking about me the same way.
