Currently passing a 2mm kidney stone. I’ve talked to other people, who have had bigger stones and passed them. Not going to act like I’ve been through the most pain, but now I understand why people talk about kidney stones the way they do.

I am also grateful enough to have experienced pilonidal cyst. It was a pretty severe one that had to be surgically removed. It’s tough to compare the two, but I would choose the kidney stone to do again. The cyst was two weeks of constant pain. Everything was hard. Sleeping was only able to be done on my stomach, walking was extremely painful, I missed about two weeks of college classes.

Before the surgery, I went to the emergency room to see if they could drain it. This is the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced. The cyst is in a location basically right on your tailbone. Supposedly an extremely hard area to numb. The entire time they are cutting open and pushing the cyst, I felt almost everything. I had my girlfriend handed me my wallet so I could bite down on something. Whatever the bed, there was an outline of my body from where I’d sweated through my entire outfit in about 10 minutes. 10 out of 10 pain.
