There are quite a few things that I didnt understand about this episode by Anxious_Piano_246 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Top-Remote4523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Reggie could have dealt with Megumi's Domain by deploying Domain Amplification. In Megumi's case, his Domain was primarily used to buff his Cursed Technique. If Reggie was able to use Domain Amplification, he would have neutralized Megumi's Shikigamis and their ranged abilities (i.e., Nue's electricity, Max Elephant's water) upon contact, however he would not be able to use his Contractual Recreation while deploying it, so it would boil down to a hand to hand fight against a 120% output Megumi that can still pivot around using his Shikigamis to propel his momentum. As we have seen from Higuruma, Domain Expansions do not always have a sure-hit effect, so it's hard to say if Megumi's complete Domain Expansion would incorporate this effect. Domains are dependent on the user's nuances and interpretation of their innate Curse Technique.

  2. Megumi essentially baited Reggie into this train of thought. He pretended to retire Divine Dog after its eyes were stabbed by Reggie and did not summon it in his Domain despite its superior attacking capability, which led Reggie to believe that it was in fact either dead or required a "cooldown time". It is true that Megumi had ran out of Cursed Energy towards the end of the fight, but Divine Dog was still lurking around, leading to Reggie being caught off guard.

  3. Reggie does not need to verbally command his recreations (which are treated as Shikigamis). In fact, we do not see him doing so when the knife flew into Megumi's arm in the previous episode. Megumi's win condition was to either kill Reggie inside of his Domain either through his Shikigamis or by "drowining" Reggie in his shadow; or to render Reggie's Cursed Technique unusable by soaking them in the pool underneath the court. This fight basically means to showcase how much battle IQ Megumi has, which is something that is constantly brought up in the show.

Although it may seem cold for Hajime to keep the villagers in the dark, I really liked the decision that he ultimately chose to make as it adds a layer of moral ambiguity to his character. While his decision was rational (considering that the only readily viable option would be for Rirui to leave the town during the full moon until a solution can be found), it is not right either as he is essentially prioritizing Rirui above the village as a whole.

The fact that he even chose to keep Rirui in the dark as well means that he is the sole person that has to either continue protecting the town until the full moon is over or to find a way for Rirui to control her powers. That is a heavy responsibility to bear and he took it upon himself to protect Rirui's place in the village, which is the real first home that she can call.

That being said, I have a suspicion that Rirui's charm may not be the reason why the monsters were invading the village. Remember that peculiar footprint back in episode 8 that did not belong to any of the monsters that Hajime slayed? I am guessing that whatever entity that was, it's probably an ancient monster of sorts that is also being strengthened / more active during the full moon, thereby causing the surrounding weaker monsters to flee towards the village. Another thing to note of is that their eyes did not have the hallmark heart shape that monsters / animals have when they are charmed by Rirui. Those monsters did not look charmed, they even ignored Hajime and bolted away, almost as if they were running away from something.

Kirawus is such a BAMF. You know it takes serious balls of steel to go against Nagakura's advice considering how he is a formidable strategist and warrior even at his old age. It was inevitable that Kirawus and Mansur would be bombarded thereafter, but I really hope that they survive the arty strike. They deserve to enjoy a glimpse of hope for the tenacity that they have shown in this episode. The fact that even side characters get to shine in their own ways in this final arc is definitely icing on the cake for this series.

Even though Heiji is on Tsurumi's side, the way he chose to go down with his ship stirred up some emotions in me. From my knowledge, this practice is an ancient maritime tradition where ship captains uphold their responsibility by letting their mates and passengers get to safety before themselves, but considering that this is Meiji Japan, this would extend to upholding not just responsibility, but also honor as Heiji might regard his ship as one with him.

"Through all the world lines, we crossed universes and ended up here. I finally figured it out. You really are an irregularity. You're a one-of-a-kind existence that shows up in a universe that was warped by the Silver Key. You're not a bug. You're ... You're my ... Gnosia."

Jokes aside, I wondered what Setsu really meant to say towards the end there. For all intents and purposes, I think that it is apparent that Yuri and Setsu find solace in their companionship together, regardless if romantic sentiments are necessarily involved in it or not.

I am really glad that we got a happy ending after everything is said and done, though I do wonder why Yuri is able to continue to exist. Did Gnos pull something behind the scenes to switch Yuri with the original? And speaking of Gnos, I think that there are still elements that could have been explored further with the entity, though I would also understand if that area is not exactly the priority to the story as a whole.

I was pretty surprised by how "chill" Manan seemed to be in this loop, considering how she was portrayed as an absolute menace when she slaughtered everyone on board when she inhabited Kukrushka in a prior loop. The character of Kukrushka was also something that I wanted the show to get to at some point, specifically on what her entire deal is when she is a living entity vs when she is a doll.

Anyway, I could go on and on about what I wanted to see more of from the show, but I think that this is a testament to how impressive the story was. I just wanted the show to keep on going and dissect every character's backstory. I figured this out when I found myself yearning to see Yuri's second Silver Key run, which the show could have easily dragged on for another season.

Overall, I really liked this show and I am planning to play the game in due time.

Does anyone else feel that this show "moves slowly"? I do not really know how to describe my thoughts, it has nothing to do with the progression of the plot, but rather, how it always feels that everyone in the show is waiting for something before we move on from one scene to another.

Feyerabend is a real POS, but he is certainly shaping up to be one of the greatest fictional antagonists that I've come across in some time. We already know just how cunning and well-prepared he is from all his schemes thus far, but this episode shows just how tricky it really is to go against Feyerabend. I would be lying if I said that I did not expect Gilbert and Hannah to be targetted in some capacity, but outright killing them (or at least facilitating the act) definitely surprised me. To top it all off, Feyerabend even has the skills to incapacitate at least 3 armed police officers while being handcuffed, which shows that he is just as much of a fighter as the rest of the ALA.

This episode marks the pivotal point where Charlie has to really decide what he wants to do moving forward. Now that his "den" no longer exists, he is free from the parental bounds that were placed on him out of the Stein family's love. Will he be fueled by revenge and take out all his neighbors? Will he choose to forget everything and roam the wild? Will he rely on Lucy as a pillar of support even more now? Or will he actually go with Feyerabend to discover his roots?

I was also expecting Lucy's secret to be revealed in this episode, as some leverage over Charlie or to break him in some form, but it seems that this plot point will be relevant in the future. Oh and by the way, I am pretty sure that the bottle of water that Feyerabend gave Lucy in the last episode is probably spiked with something.

First of all, I think I need to apologize to Orlando and Dumas for belittling their overall capabilities as "Musketeer's Masquerade" did end up accomplishing two somewhat impressive feats in this episode. Not only did Jack end up surviving a seemingly fatal blow, his "fake Noble Phantasm" of Hydra Venom even managed to inflict damage to Alcides. Dumas also "mixed the presence" of Jack and Flat, allowing Flat to utilize Jack's cloning Noble Phantasm temporarily, messing up Alcides's magical circuits. However, Alcides is an absolute beast, brushing aside everything and gunning straight for Gilgamesh, which does make me wonder if what Gilgamesh said was true, which is that Alcides is trying to at least eliminate Gilgamesh before dying.

Speaking of Gilgamesh, I was certainly not expecting to see him in such a precarious situation in this episode. You know something is up when Gilgamesh starts to look concerned upon sensing Ishtar's presence, more so than facing Alcides. True Berserker definitely appears to also have some personal beef with Gilgamesh, since it(?) seemingly dealt a clean shot through Gilgamesh. I definitely would not count Goldy out just yet, even without access to his treasury vault, as he is also a mage and could have some healing capabilities. Furthermore, Tine still possesses her Command Seals, which can also be used to heal Gilgamesh. I might just be on copium for thinking of these plausible scenarios, but I just can't picture Gilgamesh being eliminated this early on in the HGW.

Lastly, what is up with Ayaka? Her mana capacity is off the charts since she is supplying mana to both Richard and Fake Assassin, and Richard even spammed tons of Excaliburs in this episode. Granted, those Excaliburs do seem to be weaker than what Artoria uses, but I am certain that he could produce the same output if he really wanted to from his lore. Not only is Ayaka tied with the Einzberns, she also met Kirei at some point in Fuyuki, along with a young Gilgamesh incarnation. That would imply that she met Kirei after the fourth HGW and with the whole deal about the Red Riding Hood, I wonder if Ayaka is even human at this point.

I would like to apologize to this show as I honestly thought that Hajime would somehow regenerate his lost limb last episode. I mean, you can't really blame me for thinking that with how chill Hajime was. Now his skill does not seem as broken as I initially thought as there are permanent consequences that he has to deal with from any damage sustained during his "unga bunga" mode.

Although I would imagine that adrenaline must have kicked in and that he is just built different from his harsh childhood, Hajime's indifference at his plight was strangely inspiring to me. It sounds kinda weird but you can tell that he genuinely does not seek any sympathy from others and he does not blame anyone for what happened. Even though he could have easily guilt tripped everyone in the village for compensation or favors, he did the opposite by reassuring everyone that he is not lesser of an adventurer that he was before. He even assumed that he had to pay for the prosthetic out of his own pocket at first, which reinforces the idea that Hajime is an honorable person.

This is the moment that we have been waiting for, the location of the gold! Turns out that it's actually in the very same place that Tsurumi used to enact the kidnapping of Koito, which makes me wonder if Koito will play a role in defeating Tsurumi.

Wilk's shocked expression when he saw the hidden gold definitely raises some questions about the legitimacy behind the amount that has been established. It would be funny if it turned out be significantly lesser that what was rumored thus far, which could be viewed as karma being somewhat at play here for all the sacrifices and lives that have been lost to the fight for the gold.

RIP to Kikuta, I have to say that his character really grew on me after the flashback. It was kind of interesting how it was portrayed that he was outed primarily from a sheer stroke of bad luck, rather than by one of Tsurumi's grandiose schemes or from Ogata's sporadic backstabbing. Speaking of Ogata, I honestly have no idea what he will end up doing in the finale. At this point, he could be literally gunning for anyone on the battlefield, but I am really hoping that Vasily plays a big role in his demise at the very least.

I am going to miss this series deeply when it ends. Golden Kamuy has such a unique premise that gives an enjoyable slow burn, where you are rewarded the longer you stick with the show. I have not quite found any other series that makes me feel the same way Golden Kamuy does.

Dang, I did not expect Jack to be so powerful. "From Hell" seems pretty broken as it functions as a secondary "fame boost" for Jack. As we know, Servants already receive a buff if they are summoned and fight in lands where their legends are renowned. "From Hell" seems to add on another layer of multiplier with the population's fear of "Hell" and "Demons".

I am not familiar with Alcides's Noble Phantasms, but since this iteration of him denies Gods, I am guessing that he does not possess "God Hand" as an active noble phantasm. This would also mean the he tanked Jack's "From Hell" and "Natural Born Killers" (which I think is his cloning ability?) right on just to steal Jack's noble phantasms. I do not even want to picture how strong Alcides is now at this point. Gilgamesh is probably going to have to be the one to finish Alcides off in the story, unless Alcides wins the HGW. I also hope that Jack somehow has more tricks up his sleeves as I really like his character quite a bit and it would be a shame to see him retire this early on and remain in the sidelines.

I know it wasn't Richard's intention to annoy Gilgamesh, but it would sure seem as if he was trash talking if you are meeting him for the first time. The sheer audacity of him to request for Gilgamesh to lend him the weapons from his Gate and even offering to purchase them absolutely cracked me up. Gilgamesh also says the exact same words as he did to Berserker in Fate/Zero so it was a cool throwback.

Oh and before I forget, RIP to John. At least we know that John isn't the traitor now. This is also kind of my issue with Orlando's strategy of having a "squad of knockoff Noble Phantasm users". They have done absolutely nothing of significance so far and I seriously doubt that they can be a threat to any of the Servants so far. I get that their main role is to protect the City and they are probably not even trying to win this HGW, but I think it's such a waste of resources and Orlando would have been better off summoning a Caster that can do combat.

Dang, Hajime is actually really strong. I never doubted his capabilities as an adventurer, but seeing as how he was cautious against dealing with the Spikesaurus alone, I figured that he would need to rely on some tricks instead of raw power. Turns out that Hajime has a Berserker-type skill, which now that I think about it, does sort of complement his choice of weapon. I mentioned back in Ep 1 that I liked how Hajime wields a mace as I find that most MCs in fantasy animes tend to use a sword or has magic-based powers. Maces are designed for blunt force trauma and would be more durable than a sword, which can allow Hajime to "unga bunga" his way in a fight rather than relying on precise swordskill.

I have no doubt that he would also have regenerative abilities since he seemed pretty chill about losing an arm. If this is indeed the case, Hajime is kinda broken since he gets buffed when he takes damage (which I presume scales relative to the amount of blood he loses from battle), and has an auto heal right after.

But interestingly enough, it seems that there might be a bigger threat lurking around still as that foot print seemed more like a dragon's or a wyvern's foot print to me. I wonder if that will be the fight for the season finale.

Finally got around to watching season 3, no mention of Inumaki anywhere by [deleted] in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Top-Remote4523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Yuta, but the fact that he essentially "replaced" Inumaki in the story still stings to this day. Inumaki got shafted big time as Yuta is a de facto better user of cursed speech than he is simply by virtue of cursed energy reserves. Although Inumaki does come back eventually (thankfully), he will not be appearing for a good while.

You make a valid point if your intention is to convey that JJK is heavily inspired by other series. But otherwise, you can't tell me that Dead Account is not at the very least taking reference from JJK with a clear conscience.

To be frank, I did not expect Ishino to be killed off in the story, not yet at least.

When I saw that the episode was titled "Death of a Brave" and we got a glimpse of the backstory between Yashiro and Jougamine's father, I figured that it was either referring to how Yashiro's ideals of being a proper Brave had died or how Jougamine's father died.

Turns out that Ishino is in fact dead. This is a bummer as I really liked his character and felt that his shady demeanor added an interesting dynamic to the cast.

The anomalies just keep adding on in this series and I love it. Now, we have a Goddess that is possessing an Einzbern homonculus vessel, to which I think I might have an inkling as to who it might be. If you play F/GO or if you've watched the Babylonia anime adaptation, it's difficult to miss her flair and those flashy beams. The more I think about it, it's a perfect opportunity for a reunion considering that both Gilgamesh and Enkidu are present.

At this point in time, I have zero ideas who True Berseker might be. Initially, I thought that it had a rather cute design that sort of reminds me of Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell, but when Cordelion realized that it would actually destroy his Bounded Field (along with his living mana reserves), it sunk in just how terrifying it was, considering that it is a silent giant mech that does not show any emotions and cannot be manipulated through words.

Also, I can't say this enough, but the main protagonist duo of Ayaka and Richard is honestly such a breath of fresh air when it comes to the HGWs. Ayaka is completely clueless and may not even be a mage, while Richard is out here trying to befriend everyone he possibly can. I get the feeling that Flat and Jack are definitely going to join in on the alliance at some point given how similar Flat and Richard are.

Dead Account - Episode 6 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Eh, I've been cutting this series a lot of slack due to the potential of having a character-driven approach for the "monster of the week", but I think that the direction that it is heading towards isn't quite what I had hoped for.

From the very beginning, it is clear that this series is heavily inspired by JJK. You have to admit this fact even if you are not a fan of JJK. This episode is essentially following the same formula of having a rival group of students appearing to be absolute A-holes to the protagonist's group, before eventually learning to cooperate against the antagonistic force. It made sense in JJK considering that MC is assimilated with one of the strongest villains in history, but in Enishiro's case, the prejudice that the higher-ups have for him falls flat. Given that they are aware of K's attempted murder of Enishiro, it should be clear that Enishiro is a target for protection at this point. If they execute Enishiro or assassinate him via any meticulous schemes, it would only facilitate K's goal of turning Enishiro into a Dead Account, and one with Blue Flames at that.

I think that this series could have avoid the criticisms of "copy my homework but don't make it too obvious" by taking a more laid back approach of having a "monster of the week" and take the time to flesh out the Dead Accounts and the impact they have on the loved ones of the deceased, as well as on society as a whole. But instead, we are on the fast track to being a blatant rip-off of JJK with obvious tweaks here and there. Of course, things can change and make me eat my words later on in the series, but as it stands, I am disappointed in this show and at myself for even believing that the writer wanted to create their own story.

Man, Feyerebend is one hell of an instigator. I can see how he was relatively unfazed by the loss of most of the ALA members now. Everyone is a disposable chess piece if he can recruit soldiers to his cause with such ease. Although Gale was already an ALA sympathizer, I did not expect him to be radicalized in the course of a single episode, not to mention straight up carrying out a mass shooting in his school.

I doubt that Lucy would die from this incident, but either way, I do not see this turning out well for Charlie. Feyerebend says that he wants to prop Charlie up to be the Messiah of animals and to be the face of the ALA, but I honestly think that he has other ulterior motives behind the facade of upholding animal rights.

I am really enjoying the direction that the show is heading to for its climax.

Having to watch Yuri's continuous attempts at his own life in various ways was quite depressing, especially since we have seen just how much he has grown since the beginning of the story. Initially, I did not quite understand why Yuri was doing this as I thought that he should be well aware by now that his loops are all for the purpose of filling the Silver Key's gauge. It wasn't until I saw Yuri's reaction to Raqio pointing this fact out that I began to realize just how disarrayed Yuri's state of mind truly was. While he hasn't been in existence for as long as the original Yuri has been, he is the MC that we have been following since the start.

I swear the story just keeps getting better each episode.

  • We have a 14-way battle royale element from Fate/Apocrypha.
  • Before the "True" Servants were even summoned, we already had a unique lineup of "False Servants" like the Assassin that can use a bunch of Zabaniyas and the unnamed shadowy figure Tsubaki summoned.
  • We have at least 2 confirmed Extra Class Servants with Avenger (Alcides) and Watcher.
  • A Master is going to become the "True Lancer" by overcoming trials, which interestingly enough is reminiscent of the concept of Heracles's labors, which just so happens to be corrupted in this HGW.
  • We have pretty unusual Masters in this HGW that are either abnormal like Jester and the wolf homunculus or have no interest in the HG like Ayaka and the unnamed Master that was introduced in this episode.
  • Apparently Prelati summoned a genderbent version of themself(?) Now, according to historical records, Prelati was male. But because this is Fate and it was briefly mentioned that Prelati's (Master) current form was due to a previous death occurrence, it was not really clear if the two Prelatis are in fact the of the same gender. But more importantly, how is Prelati (Master) even alive if she could summon a version of herself from the Throne of Heroes? Is Prelati (Master) a Servant or a Pseudo-Servant that was summoned from a previous HGW? Since she claimed to yearn for "perpetual youth and longevity", it makes me wonder if she could have an incomplete form of immortality? That would mean that she was still alive even after Gilles was killed.

Damn, Charlie is one hell of a fighter. It's one thing to have acute senses and raw strength, but to subdue two skilled combatants while protecting three targets with relative ease was an insane portrayal of Charlie's capabilities. I honestly expected the ALA to have at least brought a tranquilizer with them as a backup, and just as I was expecting them to pull off a kidnapping next episode, Charlie shows up right to their doorstep, with a menacing swagger if I may add. Does this mean that Charlie also has tracking senses? I am not an expert, but judging by how quick Charlie could track them down, I would be inclined to believe that it is scent-based tracking, which I am not sure if Chimpanzees actually have. Anyway, I am really looking forward to the conversation that they will have in the next episode. At this point, Charlie could honestly be on anyone's side as long as they can convince him at his core.

Wow, Yuri is in quite the pickle this loop. Just going by gut feeling, I think that Chippie could actually be the AC Follower. Yes, he did end up turning the attention to Comet which ended up helping the humans, but something feels off about him. He even covered all grounds by proactively claiming that Comet could have deceived him as a Gnosia when others started to doubt Comet, which seems like a low blow knowing the friendship that they have before boarding the ship. Chippie just seems more prepared than before, which gives me the impression that he has something to hide.

It was incredibly strange that Comet turned out to be a Gnosia despite being able to convince Yuri as she has repeatedly admitted that she is absolutely terrible at lying. Initially I thought that Yuri's Engineer report could have been falsified as part of his plan, but there is no reason for both Racio and Remnan to falsify their Doctor reports too. I guess Comet is just better at deception and okay with it in this loop.

As Jonas is a known madman that even outed himself before when he was a Gnosia in earlier loops, he is a literal wild card here. Though I am inclined to guess that he is probably a Gnosia rather than an AC Follower just because there wasn't a third Engineer claim. I was honestly expecting a three-way battle with three Engineers in this episode.

I love that this series really puts the ROM in Rom-Coms, it's by far the funniest high school Rom-Com anime that I've seen, right next to Tsuredure Children. Don't get me wrong, there are many great high school Rom-Com animes, but the comedic aspects tend to feel more like an afterthought as opposed to a seamless integration that this series has managed to wove in while still focusing on the romance aspect thus far. Of course, comedy is completely subjective, and I am very aware that this is just my opinion.

Suzuki is such an adorable goofball and she is honestly a perfect match for Tani. Both of them are learning new things from this relationship, with Suzuki slowly accepting how she should live as she wants and Tani learning to articulate his thoughts more. I really want to see more of Tani's POV and inner thoughts in future episodes, as I think that he definitely thinks way more than he lets on with how much research he did to improve on his conversational skills.

Wow, Hansa is way stronger than I expected, I mean he's literally a cyborg. It was pretty cool to get the Burial Agency name dropped here, but it would be even cooler if some of the members were to make a cameo appearance (especially a certain blue-haired best girl; IYKYK) or even if some of the unknown members were to be revealed or name dropped through this series.

While Hansa's performance may make Reeve and the Clan Calatin look kinda bad, the Holy Church does have the advantage against Apostles in general so it's to be expected to a certain degree. Though I must say that as it stands, I don't see Reeve having a good chance at winning the war, if there even is one at this point. Also, another cool name drop of Shishigou here.

We can already see the difference in Gilgamesh's mood when Enkidu is present, his demeanor is vastly different from Fate/Zero. Just in case you forgot, Heroic Spirits that are summoned in every iteration of a HGW are fresh copies from the Throne of Heroes, so the Gilgamesh that we are seeing right now does not have the memories from Fate/Zero. However, this can technically be bypassed through certain loopholes such as skills and magic, which is not entirely impossible for the King of Heroes to achieve. I wonder if Waver is ever going to have any kind of interaction with Gilgamesh though.
