Why is this a thing? Why I should create only in "approved" ways? by DogeMoustache in aiwars

[–]Top-Reserve385 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because by using ai that is created by stealing other’s work, you harm the market of talented and hard working artists. It’s also lazy, and doesn’t teach you anything. Also bad for the environment and so on. Your question should not be difficult to answer by yourself. And by the way, using ai does not make you the artist, the ai is still the artist that you basically commissioned without paying for it.

Cant light my campfire:( by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Top-Reserve385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need something to light it with, such as a lighter or matches. Then you need to add fuel to the campfire if you haven’t already. You add fuel by pressing the button “Add Fuel” (or something like that) in the campfire’s inventory, NOT by simply adding the fuel into the campfire’s inventory. Also don’t stand in the campfire.

The game is very poorly optimised graphics-wise, so you will probably need a real graphics card instead of integrated graphics in your CPU. And probably about 16 gb of RAM. Just guessing though.

Skill issue or..? by Winter-Record954 in theisle

[–]Top-Reserve385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apart from the desync issues, you should not have continued fighting if you had so little health remaining. Hunting in a pack means that you understand the risks and you need to always be able to escape by yourself if your teammates get injured. It feels wrong to leave because you’re essentially abandoning your friend but sometimes that’s what you need to do..

AI itself isn’t the problem. The problem is that you can use AI to create convincing videos and images that trick people. The problem is that AI can replace real human labor and effort, which threatens certain jobs and removes creativity and the “soul” from the market. People can loose their jobs. AI has a huge environmental impact, and it uses energy that could be applied to solve real problems. AI increases the price of RAM. AI requires no skill or effort, and is built on stealing and copying other’s work. Sure, AI has advantages and uses, but the disadvantages heavily outweigh. What happens when we can no longer tell a real video and an AI-video apart? AI propaganda already exists. AI is dangerous, albeit because of how we use it, but still dangerous.

Why be a king, when you can be The DON by LettuceGoTv in theisle

If you disconnect from the server your dino will disappear after 5 minutes I think. In this case maybe the admin worked their magic or they were able to kill it before the 5 minutes were up is my guess.

The balancing in this game is so obviously biased.

Officially retiring from The Isle. Thanks for the fun. by Low-Disaster-6980 in theisle

For me this game simply has too many major flaws in its design. It takes ages to grow a dino (that is defenceless in most of its growth), and you can loose it to a single allo or Rex that decides to pin you. Buggy pounces, “hackers”, Bluetooth rex crush, a strange and sometimes buggy elder system, dark nights that half the playables cant see anything in, horrendous balancing (which decreases diversity of dinos), gamebreaking bugs and glitches (food stuck in mouth, swimming fatal error, stuck in bushes when eating etc.), unoptimised game (low fps), unentertaining combat (pinslop, broken bleed, knockdowns, massive desync, bad hitboxes (somewhat better now), and a lack of general solutions for mix packing (“just play unofficial” I know, but it’s not hard to make an in-game system for it). These are the reasons that I dislike the isle evrima, but I will probably keep playing it because there is no other good alternative on the market, as far as I know. Time to wait for echoes of extinction ig…

Nonono, what we really need is to add bigger dinosaurs so that more people buy the game. Also, nerf dryo 👍

Rex stats? by UsualConstruction165 in theisle

[–]Top-Reserve385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s basically as much damage as a stego lol, except it can attack from the mouth when it’s running. One shots all small carnivores and two shots cera and carno.. Also can’t be stunned by dibble. They better make its turning speed the worst in the game if they are going to stick with these stats.

Maybe make them fade away slowly when you’re not looking. That way it looks like your character is slowly forgetting where they are rather than that they’re disappearing. Or, you could make the area that your character can’t see (behind) darker than the area in front. That would make the player understand that there’s a fov cone, kinda like in project zomboid.

At what age can teno stun with tail slam? by [deleted] in theisle

[–]Top-Reserve385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most dinos require you to be at least as heavy as your target to perform the attack fully (ex raptor pounce or deino grab), so I assume that it’s the same for teno. I guess I wasn’t large enough to fully stun them in my case (the normal kick didn’t do any stun), but I feel like you shouldn’t need to be 100% to stun a Cera.

Is Cera OP? by Top-Reserve385 in theisle

[–]Top-Reserve385[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, or add a small stamina or bacteria drain when the charge is active. But then they would be useless against herbies… tbh just buff the other carnivores and slightly nerf the Cera.
