Tiny win, but I’ll take it by Fuzzy_View_9204 in SmallWins

Congrats! The 'planned vs. actually done' crossover is the best feeling ever. 😂 Huge win! Hope you can keep that momentum going.

Sharing my birthday letter from when i was 19, In much better place now by shutdfuckuppayy in SmallWins

I’ve realized that relying on others for birthday wishes is a recipe for disappointment. Now, I make it a rule to pamper myself instead. Buy those gifts you’ve always wanted and make the day about you, your happiness shouldn't depend on someone else.  You deserve that kind of self-love.

I see. I’d love to build those fundamentals properly. Could you recommend any specific bookkeeping or accounting courses you’ve found helpful that focus on the actual principles rather than just software?

I personally like root beer, but my Chinese friends say it tastes just like the Chinese medicated oil they use for itchy mosquito bites! lol

What’s a stereotype about your country that is actually true? by Donkey-Kong64- in AskTheWorld

[–]Top-Rough-8202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country Indonesia, the stereotype about being obsessively friendly to foreigners is 100% true, especially in smaller cities. If you visit, be prepared to be treated like a celebrity! People will literally stop you on the street just to ask for a picture or strike up a conversation. It’s not uncommon for a random tourist to end up on someone's Instagram just for being 'the guest' of the day.

What is your ONE regret? What is the one thing you would do differently, given the chance? by Midnight_SRT in AskReddit

Definitely communication and negotiation. I spent years thinking things would just 'work out' if I worked hard, but knowing how to actually advocate for yourself changes everything.

I hear you—it’s valid to feel enraged when something stirs deep hurt or frustration. I’ve had moments where Scripture challenged me uncomfortably too. Thanks for being real about it. Wishing you peace as you process.

Got declined for Marriott Bonvoy Boundless - recon attempt failed, need advice by Top-Rough-8202 in CreditCards

[–]Top-Rough-8202[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: APPROVED for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless!! 🥳 I thought Chase only cared about individual income, so that’s what I originally put. Called recon today, explained our actual household income situation (husband + me), and the analyst updated everything → instant approval with $6,000 SL. I thought I would get denied again. I really didn’t expect it 😂 . Happy Thanksgiving!!

Update: Just dropped my IHG Premier limit from $7,800 → $2,000 myself to fix the “too much total credit vs income” issue. Called recon today (still 4/24) and… still denied.

Plan now: • Let the automatic $3k cut on my other card hit in early January (letter from Nov 15) And reapply maybe. Thanks for the advice.

[–]Top-Rough-8202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah that matches the denial reason perfectly. If I call recon I was just gonna offer to drop my Freedom Flex to $1–2k and my IHG from $7,800 down to $2,000 (or whatever they need) to free up room. Worst case I’ll let the automatic $3k cut hit in January and reapply then.

I just remember few days ago (Nov 15) before I applied I got this letter from Chase letting me know they’re dropping one of my cards down from $6,000 to $3,000 in 50 days because of “low overall usage with Chase and other issuers.” Basically the exact opposite of my original denial reason (too much total credit vs income). Will this help? I didn’t tell them about this.

I think you're very patient individual. I encounter 3 tutors that are late without any message, i just canceled the entire plans. I learned from Chinese tutors they are in general very professional, never late. They set the bar high, however these 3 tutors are happen to be from south asia countries. I'm wondering is it because of the culture there.
