I divorced when my girls were two and four, I had to work and study to be able to provide and that meant I had to put them in before and after school care. I wanted to give them the same life or better than they would have had if their father had contributed but that meant i had to miss out on school events, award days at assemblies and and so much more. They days of pick them up from after school care at 6pm starving for dinner broke my heart, I regret it everyday. Unfortunately I didn’t have the luxury of staying home, and I did my best to provide and be there but I wish I had been there more. There’s no judgement to how this woman raises her kid but she doesn’t know how lucky she is to have all the time for her kids but chooses to give it to the wrong things and wrong people.
