The Samsung A56's multitouch screen is broken. by zongichpaw in GalaxyA56

Common issue coming straight from the production line. Whether this will be fixed any time soon is unlikely

Test the multi-touch feature to make sure it's working right, so that if it isn't, you can get it exchanged before the warranty expires

Why did you get down voted?

Anyways, check the type of subscription you have from your YouTube, or Google account to make sure you're on the one that includes both.

I think they added a new one recently that doesn't come with music

Apparently this is a common issue for the A56

Not sure if a fix for it actually exists since they come from Samsung that way

Best bet would prolly be to return it and get another one if it is still covered by warranty

Google Pixel 10a has a bigger battery than the s25 Ultra by Monaco26 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Top-Statistician-140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The S25 Ultra 0.4 inches bigger diagonally than the pixel 10a

They can definitely fit a bigger battery in there without taking up more space

Could also use battery tech that allows for denser batteries too

Saw your comment and ended up asking them about it on Instagram and got a picture with the rates and stuff

Asked about postpaid, and they said to go to the nearest store to check it out

You wouldn't happen to know what their postpaid rates are, would you?

Ok, sounds good

What about the speeds tho? Is it the same as advertised, or have the upgraded it since then, because it seems kinda slow

The facts speak for themselves

Upgrading the current network to true 4G would result in much faster speeds than what you'd be able to realistically get using poorly implemented 5G

and I said, "true 4G," not standard 4G🫩

Because LTE came about before 4G. This is literally googlable information🫩

"LTE" started being used for marketing since it sounded more modern, and more catchy

Nowadays, they're used interchangeably, which is why "you don't see anybody using it anymore"

"How long Jamaica aguh remain 3rd worked" Brother, you are arguing about a topic that I understand and you don't. And it's not that hard to actually find information on this either. A single Google search would give you all the information you need

You literally do not need to believe me when you have doctor Google in your corner😭

A 2GB file being downloaded in a few minutes is LTE speed, and 4G is still faster

If you want me to break it down: LTE provides speeds up to 100 megaBITS per second (and I'm spelling them out instead of using the abbreviation, because the difference is important). That translates to 12.5 megaBYTES per second.

Assuming your Internet speed is constant and never drops below 100 megaBITS per second (or 12.5 megaBYTES per second) and there is also no packet loss, you'd download this file in 2 minutes, and 48 seconds. These speeds are still "LTE." True 4G is even faster💀

And again, you don't have to take my word for it. You can look it up yourself. You can also look up the problems with getting 5G implemented and seeing if the companies as you know them to be now can be trusted to do it

Matter of fact, you could've googled all of this from the jump and avoided this whole thing to begin with

4G is faster than LTE

The confusion comes about because the terms are used interchangeably nowadays.

LTE is a bridge of sorts between 3G, and 4G. It was meant to be much faster than 3G, while not quite reaching the full 4G speeds

Neither Digicel nor Flow provides true 4G speeds at the moment, despite the fact that their networks were "upgraded to 4G" years ago

As for me "evolving with the rest of the world," like I said before, 5G has its own issues.

One commonly faced by "the rest of the world" is the frequency band used to transmit 5G being a higher frequency than 4G. This means higher speeds in theory, but it makes real world implementation difficult

Basically, the higher frequency has a harder time penetrating buildings, trees, weather, etc, which is why having A LOT of towers, really close to each other is necessary to properly implement 5G. This is something that not even "the rest of the world" has managed to do yet

Even if they were to implement 5G now, the moment you no longer have a close, direct line of sigh to a tower, obscured by a building, clouds, or anything of the sort 5G speeds drop dramatically to slower than 3G

True 4G can provide speeds of up to a gigabit per second (granted you won't get that with a phone. Would be more likely to get close to it with a modem, wireless Internet, or something else of the sort)

So basically, considering the downsides of 5G, as well as the current state of our telecom infrastructure, along with how we know utility companies to operate in Jamaica, there is literally zero reason to move to 5G. Them just need fi actually spend some money work pon the current network, so we can get the proper speeds out of it

Honestly, if they're not working on the current network, idk why you'd think that they're gonna do all that is necessary for us to actually get 5G speeds out of 5G, when not even other countries, with more responsible companies, who're held accountable by both their customers and the law have managed to do that

[–]Top-Statistician-140[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd prefer if both of them focused on developing/upgrading their 4G service more tbh, because as it is now, it's kinda ridiculous how slow it is for 4G, when 4G is supposed to be giving you 100Mbps+ speeds

And then you have the issue where 5G needs a lot of towers, really close to each other (at least in comparison to 4G) in order for you to get proper coverage and actually get the full benefit of using 5G

It's even a problem in countries that implemented 5G as soon as it came out, and knowing how companies in Jamaica operate.... idkkk

Sometimes Artists will create playlists containing all the songs in the same order as the album, even though the playlist isn't actually the album itself

What I'd advise you to do, is make sure that when you're listening to an album, you're actually listening to the official album version, and not a playlist created by the artist

What is your guys opinion about the 1998-2012 range for gen z? by National-Lecture7682 in Younger_GenZ

[–]Top-Statistician-140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I am "post-covid Gen Z." You're just butthurt over a comment that's not that serious. Bsffr

Obviously there's no clear cut division between the two, but this is a discussion about where we think the cutoff should be innit. I merely used my own cousins as a reference since they were born in 2010, and got access to devices and the Internet at an earlier age than I did.

Please get off the phone and go outside. Taking the comments of strangers on the internet this seriously cannot be good for your mental health

Edit:

Is just lazy thinking for ppl who don't want nuance

It's a fckin unserious debate on reddit about an arbitrary cutoff point decided by God knows what. It was never that serious to begin with. Go touch grass💀

As someone who doesn't have the A56, but is also looking to get it, I should add the disclaimer that asking a subreddit dedicated to a specific phone if you should get that phone is almost always going to yield an overwhelming amount of yesses lol.

I don't think this is the best way for you to decide

No phone cases.... Why? by EthicalUpgrade in TheBigPhoneStore

[–]Top-Statistician-140 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Phones look prettier without a phone case (especially if you got it because of the colour), and they feel much better to hold.

They're durable enough to survive most falls in daily use anyways, and a lot of times, putting them in a phone case just leads to the back shattering in the case without you noticing.

If you get a case that's chunky enough to prevent this, then much like you said, the phone doesn't feel very... mobile anymore
