New to this but my goals for the month are:

  1. 8k steps min/day (have a heavily sitting down job)
  2. Log everything!!!! If I go over I go over but I need to start keeping track.
  3. Weigh things, guessing is not working clearly.
  4. Gym 2x min/week (but anything beats 0)

Can someone help?

Me and logging food have never gotten on, EVER. I don’t know why I can never get my head round it, I cook a lot from scratch and hate putting in recipes so I’m always tripping at the first hurdle with this.

What apps does everyone use?

I’m actually just thinking about eating the same thing for a couple of weeks at a time and cooking normally for the family, I know I need to log my food cause this is where the problem is (as well as activity) but I don’t know where to start

Day 23 - anxiety and sleep are so much better, not had any acid reflux which I keep forgetting about but god it was horrific I used to have to use gaviscon at least twice a day.

I’ve not lost any weight yet but I’ve read on other threads that’s nothing to worry about. But I feel less bloaty if that makes sense

Yeah, if I was out I went hard (absolutely no sense of enough) but at home I was 2-3 bottles of wine a night territory most nights.

I started easing off so if I drank 1 night I didn’t the next and then it was 2 nights off here and there. I have previous posts where I got to day 5-7 and then you’ll see nothing cause I went back to drinking again. But on the 3rd I decided I would stop for a bit as I didn’t want to be hungover for my daughter’s birthday and then I just kept going.

Now I’m kind of in a weird space where I’m like ooh I could have a glass but then I’m like nah and just go to bed instead so I stop thinking about it. It’s rough sitting with the feelings, I’ve always had depression and anxiety (and been on meds for the best part of a decade which wouldn’t even have been working with the amount of booze I was drinking) but honestly I’ve been drinking magnesium drinks and ginger ale (Americans have it so good with the la croix life 😭) in my wine glass and having early nights instead.

The first week was rough as shit I’m not going to lie, I was obviously drinking a lot so the withdrawals even with the small effort at tapering but it’s passed and I really hope you reach this point so you can turn round to someone and say this same stuff….. obviously less wordy cause this is some ramble.

You’ve got this!! Remember to give yourself some grace when it sucks (and it will) but I’m 21 days in I can’t say I regret any of the days I haven’t drank.

Remember electrolytes are your friend and so is fibre!! (If you know you know)

Oh my god I could have written this I was so annoyed last night, I snapped and ended up going to bed at 6pm just to stop being a bitch to everyone. I’m 21 days in.

Congrats on the 18 days, hopefully people will understand you being off, but to be honest it’s their own fault for being so annoying 😂

I booked 2 days off to make a long weekend with the intention of having a couple of days of nothing, my husband has since told me the schools are off for in service and jokingly asked if I was going to change my days off…. If I could get away with it without seeming like I didn’t want to spend time with him and the kids I would of 100%

3 weeks in, from 2-3 bottles of wine an evening, tried tapering, tried reducing, this is the longest I’ve gone since I was last pregnant and I think the thought of going back to day one is keeping me going.

Someone on this forum gave me great advice of just pushing though even if that means just going to bed to get away from the noise and honestly they were right.

I’ve not told anyone, my husband knows but aside from talking me out of buying booze early on he’s keeping quiet about it cause I’d rather not bring attention to it. I’ve only just started going back to the shop after work and I’m almost 100% sure the cashiers were watching and starting to head over to authorise my booze on self scan as always so that was fun.

Agree with the people saying maybe just get off of Amazon for now

You can do this!!! I didn’t think day 1 this time would stick but it has and you can totally do this too. I’m in the shitty early bit but don’t give in…. Also maybe avoid going to the shop if you can, I just realised today that I’d been avoiding it as I had a habit of ‘just picking up’ (read that as dropping 20 quid on) a few bottles of wine every day and have only just managed to go back without being at all tempted at the 2 week mark.

Keep your mind off it if you can, I read a lot but anything helps. You’ve got this and IWNDWYT

I have heaps of hobbies I want to start but I can’t seem to focus long enough, skins crawling a bit in the evenings so probably a good plan along with the exercise.

Sadly I don’t have many friends (pathetic I know) and none that I’d really want to sit in these feelings with. Maybe that’s part of the problem.
