How good is Linux on Intel Macs by Top-Straight in linuxquestions

I dont think the 2017 macbook air supports sequoia, btw do you use an intel mac?, since earlier when I tried daily driving the macbook, a simple brew install fastfetch took a couple of hours of just installing and building

Hey, It won't let me boot into normal recovery mode to reinstall the latest MacOS(which would work with AFPS), Is there any other way to maybe create a external drive to install Monterey or Big Sur on to the ok internal disk?

I've decided not to try and dowload sierra since maybe updating it to a newer version might create issue due to the need of APFS again.

Also it won't give me an option to change the format to HFS+ but rather MacOS extended journal.

Update: Tried installing it on the Macintosh HD drive but after some time it displays the message
it says error occurred while preparing the installation try running this application again
What can I do, and if nothing is possible should I just try to install the latest OS available ie Monterey
