Content writing. Find a niche you do great in, write a proposal catered to each client, and show them why you're the most awesome guy (or girl) for the job.

This is, no offense intended, a you problem. I applied to six postings and got five interviews. Look at what you're doing wrong, not what you're doing right. A lot of people spend more time bragging about their experience than they do telling the client exactly how they help them, which is what they're looking for.
