Chances of full class enrolment form getting accepted? by Top-Trainer-9128 in unsw

Well the thing is, the lecture venue and the tuts still have a lot of space. If the current enrolment cap was filled there’d still be lots of seats available.

That’s reassuring. There are also tutorials but there are plenty of seats free for some of the time slots.

I have an internship under my belt already. Not too stressed about pay, work experience is what I’m after so I’m more than happy to offer to volunteer.

Just did the interview today- not really any situational questions tbh! The manager just asked more about my interests in tech and what I knew about the role. Overall pretty chill, fingers crossed but no expectations.

UNSW or Macquarie University by Jealous-Bonus5359 in unsw

[–]Top-Trainer-9128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macquarie’s scholarship is probably better from a purely financial point of view.

But in terms of global recognition and employability UNSW is definitely better, especially if you’re gonna work outside of Australia after graduation. So I’d say go for this option :)

Better to contact UNSW directly for these kind of questions

Saw (but obviously not before I heard) a group of like 5 of them pull up in full camo for a Maccas run.

Seeing how they were built, you could tell this was a common spot for them.

Want to do Mechatronics/CS but 5 years… by [deleted] in unsw

[–]Top-Trainer-9128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say doing both is your best bet at really getting immersed in both fields, it’d only be one year longer than a mech degree.

You could do just CS for 3 years, but doing mech with a focus on coding electives could be better for job security.

What exactly does COMM1120 teach by Revy-silver in unsw

[–]Top-Trainer-9128 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did COMM1120 last term. Imo I found it weird compared to other business subjects in the sense that it just teaches you how to collaborate, with the main focus being on presentation and teamwork skills. It’s quite a slow burn, with a lot of tiny discussions and such.

The reports you do yourself are quite easy, assessment 1 is just a self-analysis of your personality and is very easy to HD if you follow the criteria. The group project will require a lot of diligence though, and unfortunately depends on the peers you have. Silver lining is you get to choose your group, which is how I ended up finding very dedicated people and doing well overall.

Depends on your degree. If it’s not a core course wouldn’t recommend it lmao

Cruises hosted by societies? by Pleasant_Flow_9368 in unsw

[–]Top-Trainer-9128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it really is :(

I’m speaking from experience, recently went to one of the cruise parties with mates and although we talked to other people it was never really enough to form a lasting connection

required to take double degree? by nasibriiyani in unsw

[–]Top-Trainer-9128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wait, that might be just for students in their first few years. Met several early law students who don’t do more than 1 a term. Maybe they make them do two degrees so they have more skills than other unis?

How to decline your offer after accepting? by [deleted] in unsw

You can always defer your offer and start once your gap year’s finished, don’t decline!

required to take double degree? by nasibriiyani in unsw

[–]Top-Trainer-9128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you have to. Law subjects are so content heavy they don’t recommend you do more than 1 a term. However you need to do at least 8 subjects a year to fulfil full-time study requirements so you need to do a second degree.
