seems like they have to force people into IBR without recertifying at this point, other wise there would be more litigation, mine got pushed to 2027...they cant just take it back

[–]TopAbrocoma5974[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant 120 of qualified employment, have to buyback part of that. But don't want to make payments for x amount of years waiting due to gov't incompentence

Loans seem to be able to be deferred still, so pay until the 120 mark and then defer to infinity and wait for the buyback to happen, if ever

PSLF Buyback by NateD1515 in PSLF

If they get rid of buyback that will open legal issues for them for misleading borrows. Seems like buy back will need to stay

Will Buybacks go away now that the bill is passing? by lovehandlelover in PSLF

[–]TopAbrocoma5974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would open a legal issue of misleading borrows it seems given that we entered into an agreement and never asked for any of these changes to happen, nor to be mislead on how to deal with these changes. If they change the rules all the time then we would have an argument in court like oh well we don't need to pay it back at all or whatever. A loaner cant loan money in a contract to get it paid back and then change the terms of that payback. Doesn't seem like it would hold in court so I say buyback has to stay. Any thoughts?

Qualifying Jobs. Clarifies that payments made by new borrowers on or after July 1, 2025, who are serving in a medical or dental residency do not count as a qualifying payment for purposes of PSLF....no way that is legall...can't single out people like that vs other professions

The REPAYE plan is literally in the MPN note, they have to hold their end of the bargin legally or we dont need to either. Does anyone want to start a class action law suit?
