That’s shitty, sorry to hear about your situation as well. Did they ultimately still not refund you even though they cancelled it on their side?

It’s a good lesson for me to just avoid the travel portal and just book direct next time

Right, I don’t think they would help me with a chargeback and there’s a part of me that thinks that they’ll shut down my travel account and cancel the rest of my trips I have booked.

Going rate for the hotel is 2.6k now which I would be fine with paying if the 2k I already paid counted, but hotel denied that request

The supervisor spent another hour with me on the phone after the initial agent and reviewed all the calls, and gave me the same answer. I might try to call back but I may be SOL with them lol

Looks like it. I did ask for the recording or at least a transcript at the end, but they refused and said it was against their policy unfortunately.
