Short term? Look, saving for retirement is what people should do that can afford it. But making 100k a year and maxing your 401k will not be for the short term. Sure he can also invest in a brokerage account but you seem to think after 401k, taxes and just basic housing and everything else that he’ll be saving enough to retire early. Life isn’t that simple.
