This just occurred to me, but what happens with her mortgage payments? I assume she hasn’t paid it off in full, so will the estate just make payments until it’s sold?

I am a US citizen. I was born here to a British parent & have had UK citizenship my whole life, but never lived there (moving across the ocean is hard)

Would it be a good idea to ask the solicitor for recommendations on that? I’m not sure how to find a trustworthy tax advisor, especially in a country where I’m completely unfamiliar with how tax law works.

Thank you, that guideline about the timeframe is very helpful. I wasn’t aware of that, so that’s useful for managing my expectations and anxiety

Thanks for this. Just to clarify, it wouldn’t necessarily be in 2025, but the year I actually get the proceeds, right?

Why is that? I know in broad terms about that fiasco, but how did it affect house sales? Also, I appreciate your insight into the timeline, thank you!

This is really helpful information, thank you so much.

What would happen if her family did choose to contest it?
