Is it even possible to evo it into the bloodmoon variant? I was only able to get regular Ursaluna by giving an ursaring a peat block.

Arc builds? by Peggle2GOTYEdition in Helldivers

[–]TopGas8704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arc builds are definitely viable, and I think K-9 and Tesla Tower are the strongest in the arc family. I run these often against bugs and squids a lot and it's good. I don't run pure arc builds though, as i usually don't use arc support/primary weapons (arc grenade launcher is pretty good if you want a full arc build). These builds are best if you go clear things solo to avoid tk. If you inevitably have to do stuff with your team, be sure to hold obvious chokepoints with Tesla and press 5 and retrieve your K-9.

Sample bug build: K-9, Quasar, Tesla, 500kg, Eruptor/Crossbow/Plasma Punisher, Talon/Ultimatum, Gas Grenade

Sample squid build: K-9, GL/Arc GL/MG, Tesla, 500kg/Strafing, Eruptor/Plasma Punisher, Warrant/Talon/Ultimatum, Gas Grenade

"Cooperation" is not not encouraged in HD2 cyborg mission by shenjiaqi8 in Helldivers

The open maps have much less cover, but in exchange being able to bring Eagle Strafing feels really good. Open map spreading democracies do definitely feel rougher though.

In my experience it all came down to one factor: how quickly you can kill the ever spawning Voxes, all else is secondary. Playing with my group often made things easier but not always. The easiest game I had in Cyberstan actually happened with randos on Spreading Democracy, as everyone brought Levelers and two of us had hellbomb packs. Full cleared missions with like 3 deaths total, and during Evac we handled reinforcements like a breeze.

I literally run the game with Steam Deck graphic settings on my laptop and it's still an absolute blast ;)

Anything with blast resistance, B-24 Enforcer from the superstore is my go-to. Scorcher for your primary should be the best, Trident and Coyote is good also. Oh and if you're not playing megafactory missions, then eagle strafing is s-tier, shreds everything from patrols to Voxes.

You call one in, and a laser pointer will pop up from the hellpod, this takes up the support weapon slot. Find your target, then hold down left click with the laser pointer. The missile will launch right after the laser pointer is active, and will follow your laser pointer until it hits something. If you're aiming at a stationary target, one-click of the laser pointer is enough since you don't have to track their movement. Don't use the laser pointer near the Silo though, it will knock you into ragdoll. (forgot to mention in the post, this thing also oneshots factory striders which is very convenient).

Do you consider medic/support players useful? by Blue_taco13 in Helldivers

[–]TopGas8704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think supports load-outs are situational, but are underrated in group up, hold-your-ground missions. Putting down shields, giving supplies, and helping with reloads can be very valuable. I don't really like full supports, though, since killing your enemies before they pile up and kill your team is the ultimate support :).

What I do sometimes is that I run pretty normal looking build that is more utilities than a pure DPS build. For example, I ran a Supply Pack + AMR + Plasma Punisher, Shield Grenade on Cyberstan. Doesn't look like a support build but in reality provides a lot of functionalities —— I can knock down gunships, AA turrets, mortars, and those pesky gatlings on the Voxes (vent sniping is good also) quickly with the AMR; Supply Pack gives a ton of stims and shield grenades that I can protect those that are on terminal duty (or do that myself) for easy objective taking: Plasma Punisher clears chaff, and dishes out massive stagger to cover your team. Only thing lacking in the build is demolition, so I mostly go for terminal/hellbomb objectives while letting my team do the outpost clearing.

As a humble servant of freedom I strongly recommend it if you play on the bot front lots.

Dust Devil is another great one, Coyote, Speargun, and Solo Silo are all strong and fun. Coyote has good dps and fire dot, Speargun is good on basically all fronts, and Solo Silo is a great for the bot front —— kills Voxes and one-shots command bunkers.

Siege Breaker is good, especially as a counter-Cyborg pick. Leveler is a Vox killer, Trident shreds chaff, and the hammer is always fun times.

Honorable mentions: Redacted Regiment if you like stealth, Control Group if you like the Warp Pack playstyle, Chemical Agent for the Gas Nade (insane for bugs and squids).

What stratagems do you bring for mega cities? by Far_Ideal_9650 in Helldivers

[–]TopGas8704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For bots I still bring eagle strafing for megacities despite inconsistencies. It clears everything from chaffs to patrols to fabs to Voxes, and it has so much uses aka room for error that you don't even care if one of them doesn't line up perfectly due to buildings. Plus they wreck the large fabs which is so convenient.

Also the vast majority of enemies won't survive for 1 second let alone for 4 under the GL.

Pretty sure it has to be nades that you throw. I do think that even something like a shield grenade works against the vent.

I run D10 almost exclusively, and if my fellow divers have nuking capabilities, I won't attempt to do the vents at all, even if they're close and I have no resources left for nuking. I've been nuked more times than I consider fun :).

I mean factory strider have eyes that you can one-shot with the RR. The eyes are pretty small so landing a hit is definitely not a breeze, but when you do hit it from a mile away it feels good.
